Hey, come on... we not saying the soup isn't good. Just that there is a fly in it. And we are looking for a hack to fix it.
I posted some time back about removing the switchblade key and putting it on my keychain. The stub of the switchblade still popped out so I drilled and tapped the...
JEEP Care spokespeople are regulars on this forum but Iām not surprised that they are avoiding this thread. The fob is indefensible.
I bought the leather holster with the little carabiner-like hook from Gibson. Beautiful, but itās not for me. Iām active. Too much flopping around. Iām afraid...
I waited until the Gobi color was available for order and tried to order one with the 6 speed MT. My dealer called back about an hour later with apologies, said Jeep responded that the MT is āon holdā with no ETA. THAT settled it. I found my Sting Gray MT on line and drove 250 miles each way the...
Iāve seen several base Sport models in the North Atlanta Metro area, but all after the MT shutdown. I actually own a manual, purchased at the end of September. Itās a Sport S.
Yeah, thatās not right. Have you tried running a full tank through, filling up and dividing it out the old fashion way to verify your mileage? Could be the computer Is not giving you the right number. Divide miles driven by gallons consumed.
Iāve not had that issue. This was a road trip, lots of windy 2 and 4 lane hwys. Mostly 60 to 70 mph. Around town, to and from work, running errands I get 21 to 22 pretty steady. 6 speed manual and a light foot.
My Sunrider is absolutely my favorite thing(Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, hard apple cider and Bestop's Sunrider....). Had a guy follow me into the grocery store just to get a look at it one day. Said he was ordering one before he left the parking lot. It is fantastic!
This is 180 miles into a road trip across various 4 lane divided heys and 2 lane country roads across GA. Speeds from 45 to 75. Gentle hills and lots of curves. Again, very satisfied!
I posted early in this thread. Low ā20ās donāt remember the number exactly. Caught some flack from another member that I took the reading early on in a tank full. Canāt imagine what difference that would make, but OK. Here is my trip OD showing 22.5 mpg over a 4100 mile range. All back n forth...
Hell, I donāt even think about the shifting. Iām so used to manuals from 4+ decades driving them that itās all second nature. I was taught young that when down shifting you should ādouble clutchā, meaning slip into neutral, let out the clutch and slightly goose the throttle, push the clutch in...
The holes are M6X1. I ran bolts into mine prior to spraying. The spray guys picked up on what I was doing and masked off the bolt heads then cleaned up the coating before it set. AWESOME!
If your tapped holes are gunked up, I suggest gently running the proper drill in at slow speed. (The...
The cabover is cool! It was actually a reality during the Eisenhower years. The FC (Forward Control) Jeeps had to be the ugliest Jeeps of all but the stance, the bed, and the modern lift/tires really made it nice!
Man- thatās a nice GPW, but Iām DIGGING that red corn-binder in the background! I have as big a weakness for classic IHs as I do for Jeeps. Itās a sickness with no cure.
Iāve hauled chopped and shredded mulch, topsoil and gravel. All dropped in with a loader and no issues or damage. Itās a good bed. I also recommend aftermarket spray-in liner. It is applied much thicker than the factory spray-in. Iāve compared face to face with the Gladiator and also the Ram...
I used to buy old Jeeps and fix them up as a hobby back in the ā70s and ā80s, then kids got in the way. Iāve had quite a few from basic M38A1 I drove in high school to CJ civilian models to M-715 trucks. Even had a nifty M151A2 (not really a Jeep, but close enough). I think my favorite, and the...
The Gladiator does look good decked out, for sure. But I really like the utilitarian look of the stock truck as well. I donāt plan to lift my Sport S or put anything taller than 33ā tires on it. That said, I havenāt had any negative comments at all. And one of the nicest was a guy that pulled up...
Iām pretty happy with the gearing. Itās not perfect but its a well thought out compromise between street worthiness and trial use. Iāve had a LOT of manual trucks over the years and this one is as versatile as any.
