Looks like a 3.45 gear ratio. Either way, that's definitely way too tall for a 35. I bet the 4.10's or 4.56's would feel significantly better.

Yeah I'm sorry , it's 3.45, still though that's pretty crappy gas mileage. My 2010 JKU did better then than on 35's with 3.73 gears. I was around 15 in it.

i drove the turbo and pentastar back to back in jlu's, went in expecting to love the turbo, came out confirmed on the pentastar, it was more engaging, more linear, more spontaneous response to foot input, and it sounded way better

the turbo can really move, but it's got a bit of delay and it's deathly quiet, be a good road huntin rig

a little too small for the jt and it didn't get the nod as it didn't have enough cooling potential to handle towing duties in extreme heat/hills etc. from what i recollect reading, just not heavy duty enough

another strike against the turbo is no manual transmission

also ya, one more strike against the turbo was that battery pack crap is a bad idea, i love the idea of a larger 4-cyl turbo like ford's 2.3 or gm's 2.7, that would be ideal for a JT imo

so the new bronco with the 7-speed manual and the 2.3 turbo will be a good wrangler jlu alternative no doubt, if they build a bronco truck to go against the gladiator and retain that turbo with a manual i'd probably at least test drive it, there's some images floating around that look pretty dang good of a bronco truck, the ranger is a joke, only attribute is the motor, and no manual trans in it, it will have a short lifespan imo

This is 180 miles into a road trip across various 4 lane divided heys and 2 lane country roads across GA. Speeds from 45 to 75. Gentle hills and lots of curves. Again, very satisfied!

Mine is currently, after several errands, sitting in line at a restaurant (no dine-in, call and pick it up only), other shopping and fun stuff, sitting at 22.2. The "miles left" plus the miles driven - trip A, indicate I could see over 500 miles this tank if things keep going this way. I expect them to not as tomorrow I'll be driving to an ENT for more sinus troubles and in the middle of the morning commute traffic. Still will be interesting, and still, no matter what, the truck's mpg impresses me.

I just put 35's on last week and had been getting 17.5 around town with corrected speedometer. I broke into 20 mpg today traveling a long flat stretch doing 60 with cruise control and no air. Pretty unbelievable considering my 2 door jk with 33's averaged 18.5.

(factory height, includes having SB Snubby, 12k winch, tonneau & about 150lbs of gear in the bed.)

quick little update, posted in the axles/gears thread but some solid info to add as i just did two more tanks of fuel (6spd, 4.88's, 37's, speedo gps corrected at 80 mph, hand calculated, falken mt's w/10" tread width on stock sport wheels)

"so last night i ran a scope to a small town outside my city for some custom work, cruise control at 124 km/h(77 mph) in 6-th gear, and there are some really long deep valleys on this run, the lowest speed i hit was 120 km/h(74.5 mph) on any of them climbing the hills, this sort of thing with a lifted jeep on 37's with a manual transmission...puts a big ole smile on ones face, rpm looked to be about 2600, 4.88's are the shit

ps my last two tanks 25/75 city/hwy ran 13.8 and 13.9 l/100km respectively, which for my southern friends is 17 and 16.9 mpg respectively.

to have the kind of acceleration i have now, AND, the sort of performance on the highway, AND getting best mileage so far since i've gone up to the larger tires from stock....well...it really is win win to re-gear, having my cake and eating it too"

This past weekend I put a couple of hundred miles on the Gladiator driving to a camp site, driving on some trails and driving home. MPG was 21.5. What the hey, but I like it.

Makes sense. Mine has actually gotten better since I hit 7500-7700 miles on it.

OK. I'm just about to hit 7,000, so it seems logical. I really did expect to take a major hit with the rack and tent install.

22,700 miles, lifetime average is at 15.56mpg. About 60-70% of that has been highway at 75-80mph, and 15% of my mileage has been towing a small trailer. Stock JT Rubicon.

Only had mine for about 3 weeks now and checked it this weekend with mostly just local city driving on Rubi take off's. When the dealership put on the Take off tires they said nothing needed to be done and I was seemingly in the 19-20 MPG range just based on the truck computer. After putting Tazer Lite in and setting the tires to 33's and having driven couple hundred miles it now seems I am down to around 17 mpg. Its still early as I only have about 600 miles on the truck so far.

The measured height of the truck with the tires swapped was still pretty much the same. But with a Sport that will likely be different - and looks like you found it was.

I just picked mine up and it is steady 16 mpg on 35 inch tires with stock suspension. I know as things get worn in mileage is going to get better hopefully. Right now, I am not super happy about fuel consumption, its worse than my previous lifted JKU with manual.
