JT owners post your MPG

I did notice in the 55 mph zones where 60 was an ok speed to run without people trying to run me over I got very similar numbers to what you are talking about ShadowsPapa. All in all, I am happy with the MPG. I came from a truck so it isn’t a surprise for me. I just wish the gas tank was 4-5 gallons larger.

Dude if your getting 19-21 then yeah, I believe that. I said people saying they got 25-26 MPGs, I never said you couldn't achieve MPGs like that. Mine is getting 18.2-19.3 on 35's with 2.5" of lift so no I wouldn't expect to be i your range. Read what I was saying, 25-26 MPGs not 19-21, that's totally doable.

I have been getting 22-25. I can keep 24-25 on the level highways here. I can see the current MPG sit at high 20s on the level down by the river here where the ground is really flat. I would bet that if I was in the Goddell or Belmond Iowa area, where even field tile won't drain because the ground is so flat, I could easily do 25 on a regular basis. Non-lifted I don't let as much air under my truck as those with taller tires (35s for example) or lifts. Note semis have devices to block the air from getting under and against tires. Lift and taller tires, all mpg bets are off.
I average 19-21 with metro driving mixed in with our rural county roads.
I'm sitting just shy of 23 now.
I do believe 25 on a level highway, speed about 65 in a stock JT. I've seen mine sit at that when on flat land.
I may just have to make a trip up to Belmond or Clear Lake and drive around. It's extremely flat there. Even I35 is pretty flat and boring in that area. Snow blows for miles and miles there.

Those showing 25 on a regular basis - I'd want to see topigraphical maps and know their cruising speed. But then my Silverado would do 22.........

AMEN to that. My wife keeps ribbing me "I can go over 500 miles and all you get is 420?" Well, her tank is larger. I actually shocked myself and got 21.5 gallons in the JT last weekend WOW! I must have been EMPTY.

No matter where things settle in - the mpg I get is impressive, except when pulling my trailer. Then it SUCKS. Any time I can routinely clear 20 in a small truck, I'm happy. I didn't buy it for the mpg - althogh the sticker had nice numbers, that wasn't the reason. I was just hoping it did as well as my Chevy did, and it does much better. Better than my 04 WJ.
Bigger tank would be near the top of my wish list for sure.
Aluminum car hauler - weighs 1500 pounds empty, I got a whopping 11 mpg going to Omaha and back last January. EMPTY, no load! No wind resistance, the trailer sits low, no sides to catch wind and only 11 mpg? Ouch. I bet with a car on it I'd see under 10 mpg towing. My Chevy did 11-12, 14 when in Illinois.

Just throwing in some numbers for comparison...Rubicon MT w/ 35" Patagonia M/T's on Procomp wheels (about 75lbs)...I'm running a Pulsar tuner (adusted for tire size) and drive 95% of the time in the Economy tune. I hand calculate my mpg, but my computer has been very accurate. I have several other aftermarket add ons. I average 18.5 mpg of mixed driving. Best full tank was about 21.5 mpg with the tuner. My 2012 JKR two door with similar mods and a Bullydog tuner, tried hard to get 18-19 mpg on straight highway.

Falken A/T 35's with 488 gears. 17 MPG just about everywhere. Got 11 mpg towing my 4600# trailer through the Mountains of WV last week. 90% Interstate @ 60mph through elevations from 600 to 3600 feet.

i'm falken mt's 37's on 4.88's i agree, i live about 3800' elevation, i towed for camping recently 3400 lbs of trailer/gear, 380 lbs of me and two kids, 5150 lbs of jeep truck, total 8930 lbs on the scale at destination, 6 days of food/water/fuel on board, i got 11.9 mpg round trip, 6-spd manual, sport-s, mopar lift, cat back exhaust, stock wheels with 5.6" effective bs (added 1/2" wheel spacers to curb the control arm rub), so tires aren't sticking out into the wind, just the side walls really, i don't have heavy front bumper and winch either, overall theme pretty light and stock looking, just tall and skinny, instagram for way more info about my ride @gladiatoryyc

Wow, that's not shabby at all for that setup. You have deeper gears, partially offset by the larger tires, but still, more weight than stock, and pulling a 4600 pound trailer getting 11? Not bad. That MAY, MAYBE, could translate into more than 11 out of the mountains in the flats of Illinois, nothing to complain about. I suspect with your setup, you didn't buy for the advertised mpg numbers....

For about the first 4k miles I got 21-22 mpg. Since then I've gotten 23-24 mpg. This is a mix of city and highway but probably about 2/3 highway driving. I haven't hauled any heavy loads yet, but have pulled my 5x8 utility trailer with my motorcycle on it a few times without any noticeable impact on my mpg.

2020 Rubi LE Edition... been averaging 17.5. She gets babied and does bout 20 miles to work each way with city(40%) highway(60%).

I suspect with your setup, you didn't buy for the advertised mpg numbers....

I ran two tanks of gas through it before Tires/Lift/Gears were added. Stock 373's and Auto I got 20.5 MPG on both of those tanks. So yeah, I'm happy with what I'm getting now.

My wife has been seeing the mpg the JT has been getting and is actually considering comparing a Wrangler to Grand Cherokee next time she trades - later this year or early next. She doesn't want to lose cargo space or the luxury she's used to but the JT has almost everything she has in the GC.
I suspect a Wrangler today could be comparable to the JT in mpg, shouldn't be less.

While they were working on my JT, the Jeep dealer gave me a brand new JLU Sahara with the 4 Turbo/Auto to drive. Had it over a week, put 800 miles on it. ( Little trip) I was impressed. With the 373 gears it had more low end torque than the 488 JT, and I got 23 MPG with it.

While they were working on my JT, the Jeep dealer gave me a brand new JLU Sahara with the 4 Turbo/Auto to drive. Had it over a week, put 800 miles on it. ( Little trip) I was impressed. With the 373 gears it had more low end torque than the 488 JT, and I got 23 MPG with it.

I initially had the intention of buying a JLU before I got the Gladiator, and really liked the idea of that turbo 4 for that very reason. If it weren't for the rear mounted battery pack setup that runs underneath the vehicle, I probably would have considered it.

Looks like a 3.45 gear ratio. Either way, that's definitely way too tall for a 35. I bet the 4.10's or 4.56's would feel significantly better.
