Oh dang; so the suggestion for a hood replacement was for a less expensive alternative to the labor cost.
I thought those 2 plastic push-pin things were there to provide some warning on the dash, are they not? Hope nobody was injured.
Another thought => Soft shackles don’t rust, and I would think safer and more versatile.
If you’re just going for the look, I wonder if you could find something made of wood or plastic?
If you get an alternative set of doors, get all 4.
if you get foot pegs/mirrors, then you can kind of get away with leaving the back doors on ( foot pegs for just the front ).
similar to @Sarge502, I didn’t want poorly constructed tube doors. Some have locks, some don’t. Some tend to rattle...
Nice JTM; it’s a great package for some spirited driving in those rougher conditions; 4hi with Off-road+ for the win. I would try some of those backroads at about 10mph to 15mph faster than you did with that Nighthawk; also try with a few hundred pounds of weight in the far back of the bed...
4-low in my JTM, I would think, would give enough speed; for a JTR I would agree, unless maybe manually shifting. I don’t know how the sport is geared.
@Gvsukids I’m sure that you have more sand time than I do; would you be manually shifting to hold gears a bit longer in the loose stuff? Turn...
Potentially, for ride quality, you could bring some 18mm wrenches/sockets to disconnect that front sway bar ( and maybe some rubber twisty ties to hold it up out of the way )
It’ll be in different ways, depending on the kind of sand, temps, and whether you’re close to salt water. In MI, that’s all freshwater, correct?
anywho, you’re brakes might start squeaking b/c of the sand ( which can be abrasive ), and you may want to keep an eye on your tranny temps ( I.e...
And maybe that’s part of the point, is folks’ perception. So to you, it’s not new, and I’m guessing that you believe that you can count on it. For our house, and I suspect many others, our JTs are the first vehicles that we’ve had with ESS, so our perception includes a healthy dose of...
In some cases, I suspect they could do both, for both platforms. There are a lot of larger trucks that started life with the smaller integrated fenders, that then got some bigger aftermarket fenders added on. These things are just a big LEGO on wheels … I would love to see them embrace that...
Just recently spent a weekend replacing the head gasket in a Gen 3 Prius, known for common failures, mainly from excessive expansion/compression of the heating and cooling cycles. The fix, was a better engineered gasket, and I feel sorry for the folks that had to pay out of pocket for 18 hours...
I like what you did there; if your keyfob’s battery goes bad, you’ll need that internal/flip-out part to get back into your Jeep. Even if your spare fob has a good battery in it, it may not work for remote access either ( ask me how I know ).
now, if you could make this a bit more like a Swiss...
