  1. What’s your Average MPG?

So, how exactly are you driving this thing? Are you like, pretending the brake is cancer and timing all your accelerations accordingly? Is this a diesel? 26mpg average over 300 miles which is what you appear to be advertising here is no small feat.
  2. How capable is a bone stock rubicon?

But where is that not true? I have a close family friend who worked at Mercedes high enough that he got to do one of their track days and he made the instructor pull over and let him out. The right driver can make that ISTR factor be at 11 in any car :D
  3. Edmonds best midsize truck ranking

Frankly I think this hits the nail on the head. I've always loved the El Camino and I view the Ridgeline as an El Camino-type rather than a truck. If they just changed the platform slightly and marketed it that way, similar to say a Subaru Outback-style vehicle I think that would really nail...
  4. How capable is a bone stock rubicon?

This is kind of exactly my point. My first car ever was an '87 Honda Accord that I took "off-road" for 3 years and only had to replace exhaust parts in the capacity that literally 99.9% of people who "off-road" call "off-road." If you want to go 100 mph on those roads or if you want to start...
  5. I got surprised with a Launch Edition!

Did not mean for that to turn into a speech. I guess you experience things and you only see things through that lens from now on. Sorry bout that!
  6. I got surprised with a Launch Edition!

Haha, grats. Careful man, if I had this thing I'd have wrecked it and hurt people at your age! Anyone here over 30 probably has friends who died cause of stupid motor stuff. I look at 17-26 as me being lucky rather than good. Fuck. I really am a dad. Have fun with this amazing piece of toy.
  7. How capable is a bone stock rubicon?

Most people who "off-road" deal with something like clay packed roads of various ages and quality. I have 10s of thousands of miles in this "off-road" capacity. You can drive "off-road" in this capacity in a damn Toyota Camry for its entire life and only have to worry about replacing exhaust...
  8. How hard is it offroading in a manual transmission?

Off-roading is something you do for fun. Do whatever you think you'll have the most fun with. I wouldn't pay much attention to how comfortable you are with a stick. I went from beaters never driving a stick to my first new car being stick with a hydraulic (aka expensive) clutch. A few thousand...
  9. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

Holy shit. WTF? Your switches are cool even though they're not factory. Stop being insecure about your switches. Factory switches probably better long-term but you have a talking point when you show off your car, you're more intimately acquainted with it and most of all you're happy with it. No...
  10. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

At least your dogs are sturdy. I have to drive like a disabled bus van when he's in the car. Turns out Border Collies are 97%fur, 1% bone, 1% muscle (and 1% nuclear fission).
  11. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

Surely a truck cap is cheaper than insuring a whole other vehicle? :D
  12. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

The question is, can you pack them all in the Gladiator at once?
  13. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

Oh I already have that accessory, but I got the 4-cylinder turbo charged model. Mine wants to know if we still have to walk everywhere once I get the truck.
  14. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

I'm kind of looking forward to just putting labels over them, I was thinking about this yesterday when he posted this. It's like labeling a tool bench or somthing. It's neat, cheap, it gets the job done, form follows function.
  15. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

That's actually really cool, don't get me wrong, but the thing about it is in 10 years I expect the stock aux buttons to still work without any fuss.
  16. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

This seems to be the prevailing opinion of people who know what they're talking about. If I'm pulling something that weighs 6000 pounds I'm making a lot more money landscaping and will be paying other people to drive crap things to pull it.
  17. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

More fair points. I guess I'm just trying to wonder if part of the justification is resale. You know, kind of engine that'll take you to 250k guaranteed. I may be living in a different era mentally.
  18. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

Fair, but what about long-term durability?
  19. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

So far the top tip I've gotten coming out of this are, "get the aux switches no matter what if you're going to do things." Other than that I've narrowed it down to Sport S with Max Tow or Rubicon. So, still on the fence. I'm probably going to sign on the dotted line on the fence I guess...
  20. They had the capability, they made it better, stronger, faster...

I've been considering this seriously for like a month now and I've gotten better info from this thread then all the web searching so far. The only major disappointment is knowing I can't get a manual transmission and be happy. Maybe the era is finally dead for real this time. What about...
