I would just buy take off rubi or Mojave wheels and tires. In many cases will most likely be able to buy essentially brand new take off wheels and tires for the same price if not cheaper than it would be to get a new set of tires and have to pay to get them mounted and balanced.
Recently did a trip from Rancho Cucamonga to Vegas and back. Did 75 mph both ways and averaged a little over 25 mpg. Riding on 35 inch Open Country AT3’s set to 35 psi.
I have the AFE intake and based on my Banks Idash my intake temps are usually only 10 to 15 degrees about outside ambient temp which I think is pretty good.
I have the Toyo Open Country AT3’s in 35x11.5R7 load range C and I’m very happy with them. They’re quiet and have performed well in the dirt and the rocks. Only noticed about 1 drop in mpg going from 33 inch falken wildpeaks.
Some vehicle manufactures use tires with more shallow tread depths that are lighter weight to help with MPG’s. There was a motor trend article not too long ago comparing an OEM all terrain vs an identical off the shelf tire and the OEM tread depth was not as deep as a regular tire. Just...
