Manual here. It's a sports car transmission, and happy to be driven like a sports car, especially if you add a throttle controller to it, and set it to the Ultimate setting. The Rubicon with the 4:1 transfer case and 4:10 gearing is better matched to the manual transmission. I have a Sport S...
Passenger side front wheel bearing hub replaced. Some PB Blaster, WD 40, a whole lot of waiting, some ugga dugga whack f#ck ow and it came out. Cleaned the surfaces with a scotch brite pad, even cleaned the dust shield since @WILDHOBO made me feel guilty by doing that on his. Put back together...
I picked up some more pb blaster tonight. I have few errands to do tomorrow morning and then I'll soak it again. I can definitely tell the difference side to side which hub has been replaced and what hasn't. Heat is always my last choice also, unless that's the only option left after some whack...
The width. I went with Mickey Thompson 35" pizza cutters with zero rub. Rubicon Launch Edition rims, look very similar to the Willy's. I'm running 3.5" Teraflex springs. I did the same build you are doing, and upgrade as I go.
Heat is the last option if pb blaster doesn't loosen it up. 89,000 miles, and it's set itself a home. It's soaking tonight and I'll hope to finish tomorrow.
Swapped the rear spring spacer combo for a 3.5" Teraflex rears, and then tackled the front hubs, replacing the old hubs, along with some ceramic pads. The old hubs are so rusted together to the rotor, used a full can of penetrating lube to get them to break free. Still waiting for the passenger...
Check the space under the corner cowl where the window frame meets the body frame. There may be a gap there. I used duct foil tape to seal it, and no wind noise since. The tape will need to go under the rubber seal.
I do miss the close public trails. Everything around here is private flat land unless you wish to get in trouble with border patrol in their border buffer zone. All good places for off-roading are 5+ hours away.
Ever have one of those project days turn into a project week with 1 really stupid little thing? I had multiple Jeep maintenance projects lined up on my day off today, and realized I lost the wheel lock key somewhere last project. To top it off, it's a 3-day holiday weekend, and the replacement...
More of what I did FOR my Gladiator, but HF currently has the 6-ton stands on sale with coupon, plus some $15 HF birthday money, so Happy early Birthday to me. After 89,000 miles, the front hubs are producing some nice red dust on the back side, so they're shot, or getting really close to it, so...
I'm going to assume it's an early JLU 2" Mopar Fox spring lift kit. The early versions had that bow issue, whereas the later versions corrected it with a stronger axle pad perch that didn't deform like the early ones did, causing the bow.
