I'm at 9k since the recall completed. I've taken it on Moab and Ouray trails, and abused it during those trails and it's holding up perfectly, no lights, warnings, and I can even back up a hill without having to put it into 4wd low.
I have a manual transmission, so unfortunately no room for a dead pedal. That's one of my things that I wish I could have, but the narrow footwell won't let that happen. Maybe when my legs stop working I'll get an auto gladiator. 🤣
I've used it as a way to research vehicle issues, solutions, hacks, real world product reviews, network and of course post fun stuff. There's bell curve cycles with every forum I've ever been on. This is the same.
Word on the interwebs is that these were designed for full size dually 4x4 use, which would explain the Load E range. However they are quite capable aired down to 15psi for extra traction.
Odd, I have the same Mickey Thompson tires, and they are more quiet than the Falcon Wildpeaks, but can still hear them on concrete roadways. Call MT, give them all your door tag info, and the original tire size, and they'll get the the correct pressure to run them at. They are a Load E, so...
We're now living in perpetual hotter than Hades, South Texas, so any plant/tree that survives that heat is good, but the pool definitely helps to escape the heat. We're also finishing off a patio to expand on places to keep cool, but enjoy the sunshine, while not directly in it.
I did it with no lockers, no limited slip, slightly modified build, manual transmission with zero issues, before the clutch recall, so it was on the finicky bad clutch.
A quick trip to the palm tree store, originally picked out the 2 in the truck, then wife decided the others were much prettier, and 3x expensive. Hauled the new ones home, and currently digging massive holes to plant them. This is where house/work/truck ibuprofen comes in handy. 😭
I almost forgot that I still have them in a bag in the garage. I leave the Sunrider on year round. If I lived where there's heavy winter snow, I would probably swap it in and out, but now I'm in the land of non-stop hell on earth heat, so it's never coming off. Welcome Spring/Summer/Fall.
I turn 56 this month. House, Jeeps are all paid off. New job much less stress or physical exertion, with promotional opportunities within the next year to 18 months. The extra years past 62 would be to have extra money for world travels. I plan to keep my JT as long as I can, as they stopped...
I feel ya. 6-9 years and counting to retirement. I actually now wish the drive to work was longer, as it's hard to enjoy 3 miles in city stop-and-go traffic.
With the new lift springs a few weeks back, needed to replace my tired shocks at all 4 corners to match the new lift. Some long travel Falcon 1.1, replacing the Fox shocks and shock extender.
