Be sure you pay extra and get Nitrogen in your tires, weighs less and is a much more comfortable ride, and it's better for the environment. Nitrogen for the win!
I think most people here will recommend a 17 inch wheel, with that size you will find the largest selection of both wheels and tires, plus from an offroad/ride perspective, more sidewall. My 80th Anniversary JL came with 18s and sucked trying to find tires I liked for it.
I wouldn't mess with the springs on a Mojave, they are specific to the exceptional ride(for a Jeep) that it has. A 1 inch hockey puck will solve any squat you may get.
Ultimately, I did my 2 inch lift myself, but in a lazier moment I got a labor quote to install it and it was 600 bucks from a well-respected shop....in hindsight I should have let them do it, it was a pain in the hiney.
I am trying to cognizant of where I can shave impacts to other components given that the 6 pounds gets compounded, when its rotating, by 2 to 10 times depending on the formula used. Not clear on the math with that, but I accept there is some impact.
Also I think some of the stark differences in...
I know I am not going to regear so I am struggling with a decision between the crazy light "37" 12.5 KO2 (65 lbs) and the 37 11.5 Nitto Recon (71 lbs) - which isn't a full 37 either but a bit taller than the KO2. I like the narrower Recon and how it looks but it would seem 6 more pounds is a...
Another item to consider is weight, if one is going add 1000 lbs of bumpers, skid plates, and tents and drive it around that way....you might need tractor gearing.
Also, sometimes on these opinions, people dig very expensive holes and are obligated to defend it at all costs...gearing is pricey.
Curious idea all around, especially with all the"You gotta regear to be right!" mantra around here, but if you check out some other auto forums, even a physics forum, it would appear regearing really just impacts 1st gear and after that it's just the transmission doing its thing and if you...
I just put the AEV lift on my Mojave, and am torn between the 37 11.5 Recons and 37 12.5 KO2s. Oddly enough the KO2s are 6 lbs lighter. How much of a performance hit did you feel with the Recons?
I would suggest the weight of these "37s" greatly impacts the variance of opinions here, they are anywhere from 65 to over 100 lbs depending on the brand. Never underestimate the impact of additional rotational mass on performance.
I am partial to the twill cloth trifold tonneau cover. Its light, no perm hardware (just 4 clamps). Easy to take off and store if you're hauling something.
You're not wrong....I had to get a seat in a canyon replaced(they replaced it) because of an hand print in the middle of the passenger seat after an oil change. A bit like playing Russian roulette with every visit...
I don't think many doubt that flat control arms ride better, it's more about at what point would it matter to you, 2 - 4 - 6 inches? They look bad from the side, additional low hanging item, and 400 bucks. I am personally good with the longer mopar arms with a 2 inch lift... I can not perceive...
