To make the bed rack work with a soft top better I would make the rack go higher than the roof line, so long objects (like kayaks) don’t rest on the soft top when placed on the rack.

I have a JK with only the soft top and half doors (the upper door halves are fabric like the soft top... you zipper your plastic windows to open and close) for 10 years now... In NJ with below freezing and snow... no problem! - With half doors the only glass window is the front windshield...

That’s really great. I don’t know if I have the patience to wait for aftermarket lift kits this time around. The next issue would be which wheels would work best as far as backspacing to fit a 37x12.5-17 with the wider axels to not stick out too much from the fenders... an issue in NJ. AEV...
