I run a turndown pipe right beneath the drivers seat (where the rear exhaust section connects to the downpipes) so no resonators and no muffler. Dumping it there wasn't my first choice, but the cheapest and easiest. I get drone at 65-70 but that's about it. It was worse before i was able to get...
This report just solidifies my plan of keeping the gladiator for the weekend and getting something small to drive for my commute thinking a m57 335i… time to start saving miles on the gladiator!
Got the extra half quart in, only difference that is measurable is the oil pressure now sits at 30 on idle as opposed 27 but I know that means nothing in the grand scheme of oiling the engine.
Good point. I’m sensitive to the issue after my 3.8 in my JK blew two short blocks, both covered under warranty since it ate oil) before I replaced it with a jasper engine.
Rookie mistake, did an oil change and forgot to screw the drain plug back in. Lost half a quart so I poured in 4.5. Think I’m good for the next 24 hours until I can get back to a store to get oil?
Odd… mine also did the same and eventually came back but it’s been gone a good 2 weeks at this point, maybe longer.. I’ll unmarry the tazer today and see if I can get it back.
Maybe a tazer reboot would bring it back?
The 4xe is an interesting prospect in the gladiator. It likely wouldn’t tow more due to the battery weight, and then where would that battery go? I think it’s likely we’ll see something by 2025 but why introduce a refresh of the gladiator for 2024, then another power train refresh for 2025? On...
Unfortunately our towing capacity isn’t axle limited, it’s cooling limited. Even with the full float they can’t get around that we don’t have enough cooling power to tow more.
Agreed, we've got 3 B58's in the family between my wife and I and her family, 2 X3m40's and a m240i. The m240i is on MHD Stage 2+ and it rips. Makes the m340i a bit more tempting to get 4 doors out of the deal too. We'll see how the first few months goes of this commute then I'll report back...
