I'm sure the pages referenced are forum pages covering dirty little details such as:
Aluminum corrosion
Aluminum steering boxes
Camshaft and follower issues
Sun visors falling out
ESS failures
Loose fuses
Premature battery failures
Clutch detonations
Clutch recall and software flash issues...
Not sure its a good vehicle if you don't plan on wheeling or taking the top and doors off on a regular basis. At 53 years of age I have owned a lot of vehicles. Currently 2 of them are a JL Wrangler and a JT Gladiator. They have been nothing but trouble whether its the paint, engine...
I hope they also bought extra camshafts, clutches, fuel pumps and steering boxes. It's gotta be a real bummer putting a machine gun in the bed of truck that's always in the shop. They're also going to need a shitload of ball joints. Impossible to aim when you've got death wobble. Come to...
I too am fine with scratches. I just did a trail last Wednesday night that was like going through a carwash made of chainmail. Dents however I would probably have fixed. While pinstriping is unavoidable where I live, I don't want my truck looking like some beater on a meth-heads front lawn.
2nd owner of a 2020 and loving it! Only basic maintenance items so far like a clutch, camshafts, steering box and proximity sensors 🤦‍♂️
if I didn’t wheel I’d probably be pissed but i really do like jeeps and this gladiator is fantastic.
To the people who say "to each their own" I say that "their own" involves placing bath tub accessories onto my personal property. Their "thing" is not something that can be ignored when that "thing" is left on the hood of my car. What if it was other bath accessories like a toilet bowl plunger...
I think Jchap is onto something. Once everyone else is doing it the jeepers will get frustrated and lose interest. Then we can go back to life without bathing accessories in the vehicle; until the next big idea sweeps the country.
Those GD ducks. I just saw them spread out all over the dashboard of a Toyota Rav4. WTF? As if having those little vulcanized bastards associated with Jeep wasn't bad enough, now other brands are ripping off our mind-boggling lunacy. I was never ok with the adoption of the dash duck from the...
2" or 4"? Spacer lift or spring lift? Very different animals. I'd say 3 plus and you need to change a lot of suspension and possibly driveline components if you want it drive correctly. Outside of shocks and springs You'll find you might need longer or adjustable control arms, adjustable...
Great. Now I’m going to be freaked out next time I’m boxed in during bumper to bumper traffic. However, a 6” lift and 42’s might keep me moving. Probably not fast enough to get away from a deranged lunatic but it will be fun while it lasts.
Late to the game, I'm sure it's been said already but I cannot stand the look of the colored door hinges. Makes the vehicle look like a garish kids toy that walmart sells, IMHO it's a way of saying I don't take my Jeep into the woods, without ever saying I don't take my Jeep into the woods...
Welcome to the wonderful world of Jeep ball joints! On my Jl I went thru several sets in 68,000 miles. Get a good set of aftermarket (teraflex, metalcloal, Yukon, etc.) and you will be in much better shape.
Things to try with relatively little cost:
1. Alignment
2. Make sure air pressure...
Just had my right side cams, followers and lash adjusters replaced at 34,000 miles. 2020 Gladiator. Dealer was great to work with. Their only advice while I waited to get the work done was don't do anything crazy with it like drag race. I held off on a wheeling trip because of this as, at...
" causing MAYBE under certain conditions the air bags to go when they might not have otherwise."
Interesting. I completely removed my bumper so I suppose there is is a chance my air bags could deploy in a subtle altercation. As long as they deploy before the Warn winch plate makes contact...
As far as I know every bumper, including no bumper at all, is compatible with Jeep airbag sensors. They are inertia sensors located behind the grill somewhere thus allowing customers to do what they want to the front bumper with no ill effects.
