I asked the Arizona dealer why they required signing in-person. They said there's been too many vehicles purchased by terrorists and terrorists' groups, then the vehicles are shipped overseas. According to the FBI, those dealerships are accepting dirty money, or helping support terrorists by providing them with vehicles, etc.
I hope they also bought extra camshafts, clutches, fuel pumps and steering boxes. It's gotta be a real bummer putting a machine gun in the bed of truck that's always in the shop. They're also going to need a shitload of ball joints. Impossible to aim when you've got death wobble. Come to think of it, no wonder they all use Toyotas. When the closest dealer is 5,000 miles away recalls must be a real PITA.

There are different versions of the CP4 pump. Nobody else is running the recalled pump. There are still thousands of pumps backlogged just for the recall.
Seems like there are a lot of questions about the CP4 for other platforms despite different variations of the CP4

I've been keeping track of some of the high mileage EcoDiesels. Here's the list that I've put together so far. There are many more that I could add to the list, but it's not always easy to get people to participate.

300,000 Mile Club
Andrew A. - 321,000 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation
Geno21 - 338,000 miles (engine, transmission, and truck) - Still in Operation
Mopar2ya - 345,352 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation

350,000 Mile Club
Another - 351,813 miles (engine and truck) - Traded
VernDiesel - 371,000 miles (engine only) - EGR Cooler/Head Gasket Failure
Chad Lexvold - 388,955 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation

400,000 Mile Club
Ramdriver501 (truck #1) - 410,000 miles (engine and truck) - Totaled
VernDiesel - 423,000 miles (engine) - Coolant Loss due to cracked head
RussellandCissy - 433,323 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation
J.R. Gunn - 443,000 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation

450,000 Mile Club
James - 452,000 miles (engine) - Coolant Loss (reason not confirmed)

500,000 Mile Club

Tyler_R - 525,018 miles (engine and truck) - Still in Operation

550,000 Mile Club

Muzzerall - 559,234 miles (engine, transmission, and truck) - Still in Operation
How many of these high mileage have been tuned though?

The 2014 - 2023 Ram/Jeep EcoDiesel actually had the best version (wear package) of the CP4.2 pump in North America. An internal investigation showed a 1% failure rate.

RussellandCissy at 433,323 miles is bone stock. Most of those trucks were bone stock for the first 200,00+ miles before they were tuned. Not every tuned truck is deleted, though.

There's a CP4.1 and a CP4.2 that I know of.

It was discontinued due to part availability. They didn't have enough High-Pressure Fuel Pumps to supply both the recall and production.
Also because of the 2027 diesel emission regs. They're even tougher. Cummins redid the diesel for the Ram . Went to 7.2L. 2 alternators. One is either a 24v or 48v. Can't remember which. It just for the DPF. Plus they went back to the CP4 fuel pump because of the higher fuel pressure needed. The CP3 can't produce the pressure needed.

Yes, and there are variations within the CP4.2. Like I said, the Ram and Jeep EcoDiesel got the best wear package of all CP4.2 pumps in North America.

Ram is still running the 6.7L Cummins for 2025 and 2026. The new 7.2L is slated for 2027. They did make quite a few changes for 2025. though.

No, Ram went to the CP8 pump for 2025

Yeah, they went to the 7.2L for 2027. That's what I meant. They are offering 2, 6.7's for now. The 2500 gets the low torque, and the 3500 gets the high torque motor. Believe they all get the ZF 8 speed trannys.

CP8? I read CP4.X

There's only one engine offering for 2025 and 2026. Ram has eliminated the High Output option.

No, it's the CP8.

Hmmmm, I read that they dropped the high output option for the 2500, but the 3500 only gets the high output. Wish people would get their stories straight.

Sent you an e-mail.

Well, it's a little confusing. Ram said they dropped their High Output option, but the new engine is rated for 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque across all Ram HD's.

That's a nice-looking Jeep! That's funny you had to fly from Utah to New Mexico. We ordered our 2020 Ram EcoDiesel from Classic Motors in Richfield, Utah and had them ship the truck to New Mexico.

I bet that was a nice drive from Santa Fe to Utah. Did you go through Chama on your way home? Them up through Cortez and into Moab?
We've actually driven that route many times. Spent lots of years in Texas (Active military). Going home to Utah to visit family - many times we went through Santa Fe, but other times through Gallup. Through Cortex, Monticello, Moab, Price, Spanish Fork - then up I15 to Brigham City.

We drove diesel GC's at three different dealerships. All of them had black carpets and interiors. My wife said she didn't even like riding in that black interior. Found out that the Overland offered an light tan interior plastic and carpet, with brown leather. That she liked.

A dealer in Morgan, Utah, found the Overland at the Lithica dealership in Santa Fer, but they wouldn't trade. I called and made arrangements to buy it directly. Yes - shipping to us was an option, but we needed a little trip anyway - so we flew down and took several days coming home.
