  1. Engine died during water crossing

In Moab this past year we came upon a stretch of water that when we attempted to cross I stopped and backed out when my 35's disappeared. Changed fluid later and all was fine. I since relocated the diff breathers to under the hood and correct me if I'm wrong but the trans breather is already on...
  2. White trash winch install

    Gotcha .... ?
  3. Dealer didn’t put oil in after changing filter?

Always pop the hood for a visual inspect and oil level check after a service kids ... services are performed by humans... and we know we are all perfect.
  4. White trash winch install

I'm curious to see if there is some sort of trademark infringement with that Red W ... I am certain Warns lawyers will be taking a look at this one.
  5. Update on switching from M/T to an A/T results (Toyo Open Country III A/T -- 265/70/17)

One of the most asked questions ... "What's the best tire" ... the real answer.... there is none. It's solely dependent on your rig, your intended use, and also preference. In our part of this earth we tend to run MT's ... not that we enjoy mud, but we do find ourselves passing through spots of...
  6. Got a really slow drip from the rear pinion seal...

:giggle: ... I think someone forgot some decimal points when editing that manual
  7. My tranny fluid change

Maintaining clean fluid is good practice IMO ... I swap trans fluid every 30k (Diffs and Transfer once per year), whether it needs it or not. I'd rather drop relatively clean fluid vs waiting until its black and full of crap.
  8. Dealer didn’t put oil in after changing filter?

It annoys me that these guys do this ... if it would start we never would have called.... and what if it was a timing chain or something that would caused additional damage during a restart attempt? I had a Nissan Titan that went dead ... tow truck driver cranked the crap out of that thing. I...
  9. Suspensions Air bags

I ran them for a short while. They will firm up the ride slightly when running empty ... loaded with a small amount of weight for your day to day might help with this. The issues I had were related to the air lines ... the Firestone airlines are a type of hard nylon ... I first had the line...
  10. Stuck in "in production" since 2-20, is this normal?

Sucks, but you just need to be patient. When we ordered my wife's JL the online trackers were not real time and the updates were rarely accurate. The VIN never pulled any actual info ... it final showed in production and it was our dealer that notified us that it had shipped. Build time was 4...
  11. Matt Rescues DV8 Off-road Bronco

    .... another cross eyed Bronco
  12. No matter what, pulls right

Road crown is a huge component ... I notice a constant right pull when on our interstate, now if I shift over the road crown that pull transitions to the left. The question is ... are your expectations reasonable for a solid axle rig? ... what are you comparing your experiences to?

Yep, time to start shopping for a full lift. Northridge4x4 has so many options it will make your head spin.
  16. Flated Products (Seen on Shark Tank)

Being that I work in the inflatable products industry I have an opinion on this concept ... first i will applaud anyone for thinking outside the box, but IMO this concept would be viable for intermittent and temporary use and is not something I would think you could run continuously or full...
  17. First real trip in the new Gladiator vs 2500 Ram

You really can't compare a Ram vs Gladiator in terms of hwy miles... the Ram will win every time. Where the Gladiator shines is when I can tow my small camper 10 hrs to Moab, air down and wheel all week, air up and tow another 10 hrs home. I'm 6'3" and agree the stock seating sucks ... why Jeep...
  18. Just got out of dealership hell, how's your local affiliate?

Luckily our dealership is one of the better ones and seems to care about customer service. ... in regards to the window leak. Mine did the same as with many others. I found way too many horror stories online to the fact that the dealerships punt this to a third party glass company ... at that...
  19. Battery Charging

your AUX is probably dying ... replace it or delete it. A bad AUX will also put a strain on the main. After I replaced the AUX my main died, so I chose to delete the AUX and upgraded the main to an Odyssey. No issues since.
  20. Calling owners of the following sliders: RockHard 4x4, RockyRoad, Ace Engineering, White Knuckle, and Expedition One $1200+/- budget

For what it's worth ... I was searching for frame mounted sliders and liked what I saw from Shrockworks... placed an order on Jan 2nd knowing they had an 8wk lead time. About a week and a half ago I started to look into my order and found that Shrockworks closed their doors back on Jan 14th...
