In Moab this past year we came upon a stretch of water that when we attempted to cross I stopped and backed out when my 35's disappeared. Changed fluid later and all was fine. I since relocated the diff breathers to under the hood and correct me if I'm wrong but the trans breather is already on...
Always pop the hood for a visual inspect and oil level check after a service kids ... services are performed by humans... and we know we are all perfect.
One of the most asked questions ... "What's the best tire" ... the real answer.... there is none. It's solely dependent on your rig, your intended use, and also preference. In our part of this earth we tend to run MT's ... not that we enjoy mud, but we do find ourselves passing through spots of...
Maintaining clean fluid is good practice IMO ... I swap trans fluid every 30k (Diffs and Transfer once per year), whether it needs it or not. I'd rather drop relatively clean fluid vs waiting until its black and full of crap.
It annoys me that these guys do this ... if it would start we never would have called.... and what if it was a timing chain or something that would caused additional damage during a restart attempt? I had a Nissan Titan that went dead ... tow truck driver cranked the crap out of that thing. I...
I ran them for a short while. They will firm up the ride slightly when running empty ... loaded with a small amount of weight for your day to day might help with this. The issues I had were related to the air lines ... the Firestone airlines are a type of hard nylon ... I first had the line...
Sucks, but you just need to be patient. When we ordered my wife's JL the online trackers were not real time and the updates were rarely accurate. The VIN never pulled any actual info ... it final showed in production and it was our dealer that notified us that it had shipped. Build time was 4...
Road crown is a huge component ... I notice a constant right pull when on our interstate, now if I shift over the road crown that pull transitions to the left. The question is ... are your expectations reasonable for a solid axle rig? ... what are you comparing your experiences to?
Being that I work in the inflatable products industry I have an opinion on this concept ... first i will applaud anyone for thinking outside the box, but IMO this concept would be viable for intermittent and temporary use and is not something I would think you could run continuously or full...
You really can't compare a Ram vs Gladiator in terms of hwy miles... the Ram will win every time. Where the Gladiator shines is when I can tow my small camper 10 hrs to Moab, air down and wheel all week, air up and tow another 10 hrs home.
I'm 6'3" and agree the stock seating sucks ... why Jeep...
Luckily our dealership is one of the better ones and seems to care about customer service.
... in regards to the window leak. Mine did the same as with many others. I found way too many horror stories online to the fact that the dealerships punt this to a third party glass company ... at that...
your AUX is probably dying ... replace it or delete it. A bad AUX will also put a strain on the main. After I replaced the AUX my main died, so I chose to delete the AUX and upgraded the main to an Odyssey. No issues since.
For what it's worth ... I was searching for frame mounted sliders and liked what I saw from Shrockworks... placed an order on Jan 2nd knowing they had an 8wk lead time. About a week and a half ago I started to look into my order and found that Shrockworks closed their doors back on Jan 14th...
