Mounted them on my stock rims with no questions asked, and there was never an issue running in that configuration.

Thank you for the update! You guys have always been my go to for tires for a reason.Good morning @Larry1962us
First and foremost, I apologize we didn't do a better job explaining where our tire to rim width recommendations come from. I understand you made the pivot to wider 17-inch wheels, however wanted to take a minute to clear up the confusion to what we will mount.
Tires are designed to flex in certain areas of the shoulder/sidewall which is where rim width comes into consideration. When a tire is pinched or stretched on a wheel that is too narrow or too wide, it's forced flex where it is not designed to do so. Due to this, and with safety always at the forefront, Discount Tire follows the US-TRA guidelines (Tire & Rim Association) for safe tire to rim width pairings.
With that in mind, we will install/mount the following popular JT tire sizes on these rim width ranges:
LT315/70R-17 (7.5 - 11)
35x12.50R-17 (7.5 - 11.5)
37x12.50R-17 (7.5 - 11.5)
37x13.50R-17 (8.5 - 12.5)
LT285/75R-18 (7 - 10)
LT295/70R-18 (7 - 10)
LT325/65R-18 (9 - 12)
35x12.50R-18 (8.5 - 12)
37x12.50R-18 (7.5 - 11.5)
37x13.50R-18 (8.5 - 12.5)
With the factory Overlander wheels being 18x7.5, we would recommend the 285/75R-18 or 295/70R-18 for near 35-inch options on the this particular wheel.
I"ll also note that these rim width ranges are for LT and High Flotation tires. P-Metric/SL can differ.
I hope this helps!
Thank you for the kind words and continued support; it's greatly appreciated!Thank you for the update! You guys have always been my go to for tires for a reason.
But no warranty.I just went to a local independent tire shop to get mine mounted. No questions, no problems.
I had mine done at the DT in porter. Right off the south side of 59 and the grand parkway. The Kendas and Willy’s wheels. Think it was about $120 out the doorI messaged Discount Tire on this site and they said they would'nt mount them to stock rims. I'm
going to go to a different store and see if they will. Luckily we have about 30 Discount Tires here in Houston.
Exactly, Discount puts a warranty on a tire even if you don't buy it from them. If they sell the tire they will put their warranty on it. If they don't you still get the free air and they will patch it for free if you pick up a nail or something. Discount will get my business. But no warranty.
I guess. I've never had an issue. Same shop will patch it for a $20. Still comes in cheaper over the lifetime of the tire in my experience. Plus if I ever need to replace just 1 tire, they'll do it too. Most chains make you replace all 4 on 4WD vehicle. I also like supporting my local economy when I can.But no warranty.
Thank you @Jabakkarabbit for the kind words! We do appreciate the shout out. We are here to help, and look forward to doing so.Just hopping in to say the Discount Tire rep on here has helped me out with tires 2x so far. Thank you Discount Tire and I'll be back again and again as long as I'm on this side of the grass.
what about narrower tires? Like the new Mickeys 35x10 on the factory 7.5x17 rim? I think the mickeys are 255/85/17Good morning @Larry1962us

Good question @chorky. Looking at a few different rim width range charts, the 255/85R17 will accommodate a 6.5 - 8.5 inch wide wheel without issue. Your stock 7.5 inch wheel is pretty much an ideal fit. Hope that helps.what about narrower tires? Like the new Mickeys 35x10 on the factory 7.5x17 rim? I think the mickeys are 255/85/17
That Discount Tire Store in Porter is awesome to work with! Took care of me when I went from the Firestone Destinations to Toyo AT3's.I had mine done at the DT in porter. Right off the south side of 59 and the grand parkway. The Kendas and Willy’s wheels. Think it was about $120 out the door
