Exactly. I want to turn this thing into a beast, but need to be conscious of weight everywhere. I did end up getting a steel front bumper but it's a stubby so it's not terrible. With a winch it should be about 130lbs, which is less than most peoples full size steel bumpers by themselves. The...
Yuppp... payload on my 21 JTRD is 1,075lbs. Gaining 750lbs in usable weight is massive, I've been working with a 4X4 camper company and the average weight for one dry for a Gladiator is 750lbs. I'm not trying to be one of those guys that is running 1000lbs+ over his payload and thinks its okay.
I want to shorten up the tail a bit like a bobbed bed length for a bit better departure angle while gaining length by going to a regular cab. I don't care for the soft top personally, but I saw a company that did a custom hard top and it could still come off on a single cab conversion.
Quite a...
That's my understanding as well. I'm planning on a frame-mounted camper, so the ability to shorten the rear hangover while having a longer camper by going to a regular cab really interests me.
I've reached out to a few custom fab shops that I've seen do this, this seems to be more common than I...
I've owned a RAM EcoDiesel and now a Gladiator Eco and it's a little torque monster workhorse. I've personally had no major issues with either one of my EcoDiesels other than the pump recall and a few minor warranty things, but it was never an issue with the warranty. A lot of the complaints...
Following!
Looking to do something similiar to this with my 21 JTRD, chop the rear part of the cab out and go single cab to have more room for a frame-mounted camper on the rear.
Can't wait to see how this is!
Afternoon folks!
Just doing some theory crafting for my build. I've always been a fan of two-door trucks with the longer bed, and I'm planning on removing the bed of my JTRD and putting a frame-mounted camper on the back (Working with a company on that already). One thing that has intrigued me...
Holy moly, you're nearly 1,000lbs over the GVWR of a Rubicon. There's quite a few people who have bent their rear frames when offroading overweight, might want to check out getting a frame reinforcement.
Picked up a Teraflex Falcon 2.2 Steering Stabilizer for a wicked deal, so slapped that on today. It's a night and day difference from the stock stabilizer, especially on the firm setting on the highway. Wind doesn't toss you around like cardboard in the wind anymore. Took maybe 45 minutes to...
Unlikely you'll hear clunking on dirt... my concern was testing 4x4 on dry pavement, that can definitely make some nice binding/clunking noises.
You could hear clunking if you're flexed with a 4.5" lift without a new front driveshaft... but if its happening at 15mph on level ground, something...
That's a solid lift. Sounds like it could be an alignment issue. From a load perspective, if you're not carrying load all the time like an overlander type build. You're better off removing that spacer, going with the regular non HD springs in the back and getting something like an AirRite...
It depends on the shock length. If you don't have more than 28.5" front shock length you don't require a new driveshaft. Teraflex shocks for example run a bit short and you can get away without needing a new driveshaft on taller lifts.
Yeup... people with death wobble usually have a few main issues.
1. They bought the cheapest Rough Country lift you can think of and stuffed 37s underneath it and are wondering why it rides like shit
2. There is a failing component (Trackbar bolt wallowing out, bad tires, etc)
3. The alignment...
A few questions...
1. What is the lift? What was actually done? (Parts) That is a very tall lift and requires quite a few things to have proper geometry.
2. On what surface are you testing the 4x4?
The majority of people you see complaining about an Ecodiesel fall into one of two categories.
1. They don't own an EcoDiesel and are just parroting what they read
2. They owned a 1st/2nd Gen and unfortunately dealt with a lot of issues
The 3rd Gen EcoDiesel is over 80% new design that...
It's a feature.
Almost every Gladiator owner I know has this lol. The edge of my hood on the passenger side is bubbling and I'm seriously debating just paying to bring it to a reputable shop. After all the horror stories of warranty paint work from Jeep dealerships... I don't know if want to...
Sorry in advance Oracle, I do applaud your customer service but your physical product is just terrible from a reliability standpoint. They do look great though.
That being said, I would never recommend an Oracle product again. Their failure rates are just insane, warranty or not. I've had...
The turbo is 100% covered under the powertrain warranty, it states so in the warranty itself. That service manager does not know what he's talking about.
If they're saying the turbo assembly needs to be replaced, the warranty literally says that turbocharger housing and internal parts is...
