  1. What camper are you towing with your eco-diesel?

Nahh, if you like your gladiator, keep it. The heat can be managed … there are also improvements to be made to help with heat. I plan on keeping my gladiator and living in the desert … I’m sure a tune, 4.56 gears and an auxiliary cooler would be helpful. But I was impressed I was able to...
  2. What camper are you towing with your eco-diesel?

Just about 4700lbs empty plus another 300 in freshwater (39 gal). Total weight rating 6000lb and total axle capacity 7000lbs. Long mountain climbs out of cool San Diego at 65mph were flawless however temps were elevated with a peak of almost 240/260 (water/oil temp) … the hot desert side of...
  3. Towing update with the Diesel

Reached out to EOC with some questions, apperently their exhaust is back ordered … but I’m glad I got some fellow zonies running this tune with good success … I’m leaning this direction, it’s just in my mind the GDE feels ā€œsafeā€.
  4. My 70k eco diesel bottoms out... Jeep "Sorry we can't do anything!?"

I actually worked with Chrysler about this issue back in 2020, I factory ordered a ā€˜21 diesel as soon as I knew about them … anyways, we agreed the fix would be a Mopar Lift and they approved it!!! I provided measurements of my bumpstops, travel distances, compared to other unit on the lot, my...
  5. Towing update with the Diesel

no Wait!!! I just noticed … In your video you’re getting 24.5mpg AVG towing a Basecamp ?!?! Is your Basecamp the 16 or 20 footer? When did you last reset your MPG display?
  6. Towing update with the Diesel

I just finished the Mopar brake controller install … I’m very tempted into doing the stage 2, I don’t care about multiple tunes , in fact I’d love just stick power levels but remove all the nanny torque management crap … and a transmission tune of course. but I’ll take the extra power if...
  7. Towing update with the Diesel

what a coincidence, I too have an ecodiesel in Phoenix. I just brought home a used airstream I picked up in LA. Truck got very hot but never a derate. Saw coolant creep to about 240 and oil temps approaching 260. But this was a longish climb out of San Diego up past alpine. Flat towing was...
  8. What kind of Def Fluid to get at Parts Store?

I’m at 5400 miles and my vehicle is threatening not to start in 95 miles … I’m gonna see how serious it is about this. Did the government really create a scenario where a stupid emissions system can leave us stranded ??? What if someone cracks a tank, or a sensor goes bad??? I have 5 gallons in...
  9. What kind of Def Fluid to get at Parts Store?

Saw that … kinda sealed the deal … shocked TRIPPLE?!?! Anyways, same jug, same funnel, different box but cut on the same die (markings, holes, folds) I convinced it’s the same …….
  10. What kind of Def Fluid to get at Parts Store?

Was at the parts store scratching my head, Oreilly brand $9.99 and Peak Platinum is $27.00 … I can’t imagine any difference being worth the difference …
  11. Towing Gas vs Diesel

I wasn’t impressed with the Pentair on my first JT, got about the same MPG on 35’s as my LJ on 33’s … all these years of advancement, you’d think they’d exceed in that regard. Both were manual transmission too. Anyways, I’m on my second ecodiesel, it’s a tragedy they dumped the diesel so...
  12. I have a question for anyone who actually knows. Diesel related.

Careful, you don’t wrack up 450k miles driving like a typical customer … the low pressure EGR, post DPF, clean and filtered EGR is mostly used after the engine is fully warmed. A vehicle with 450k miles in just a few years spent very little time warming up, perhaps cold weather but more time on...
  13. What changed in the Mopar roll up tonneau cover from 2019 to 2021+?

UPDATE!!! I just bought a new Mopar roll up tonneau cover for my 2023 gladiator. The tonneau was manufactured 5/21/24, so very new… and it is the black twill material and of course the new mounting for the 2021+ Beds.
  14. Maryland ISO Tonneau cover

Standby, if my Mopar one I just ordered ISNT black twill like they told me, then I’ll take this on off your hands … sucks that shipping is up the wazoo.
  15. Towing Gas vs Diesel

Close, it was the 4.2 liter version, the 4.0 came way later … roads of Rome were built for the higher speed made possible with the 4.0
  16. Towing Gas vs Diesel

Own an old Chevy 350 during the emissions years, flat tappets, cast junk low compression motor, emissions stuff up the wazoo … highway 3000-3500rpm. That’s not even a ā€œperformanceā€ gear, my 1980 corvette had 3.07 gears and 4 speed manual without OD (automatics also never had OD) … rewind 10 more...
  17. Towing Gas vs Diesel

It’s looking like if you use the truck and push the motor and take care of maintenance, your good for a while… babying and city driving may kill the motor faster than loading up a trailer and hot shotting it across the country. Wonder how many high mile-ers are tuned, obviously stock can put...
  18. Maryland ISO Tonneau cover

Be sure to share the year of your truck and year of the tonneau cover. They changed in 2020. I got a new on in the mail that has the newer mounting for my 2023 and according to the seller it has the premium material (black twill) … my top is in the mail. If it not black twill, I too will be...
  19. Towing Gas vs Diesel

lol, mileage is better towing the TJ rather than driving it. I have an 05 LJ, love ā€˜em but MAN! They’re thirsty … on 33x10.50 I’ll get 12-14mpg in this heat with max AC. I do love that 4.0 and simplicity.
