Great post! There are several ways to accomplish running 40's with no rubbing at full articulation. I have 40's on a 4" long arm lift and they do not rub at full articulation. This was accomplished by custom fitted and trimmed inner fenders.

I believe all of the shift points are built into the tune like that to me as economical as possible. I personally wouldn't think of gearing down especially being on 37s (correct me if I am wrong).
Maybe refer back to RUBI and ask them? The tune could always be updated to adjust shift points...

I have run 37's and 40's on my JTR. 37's were great on my 2" Mopar lift and Dana 44's, no modification needed (at this point I could only get 14-15 MPG avg). I recently did a few upgrades and decided to go to 40's. To successfully upgrade and feel I had full reliability off-road I updated...
