To be honest it was probably a gradual process but I think I grew used to the issue so didn't notice as much. The notchy steering seemed to happen over the last month. What i have noticed is the notchy problem is now gone and the steering is much tighter after the repair. I didn't realize it...
I felt the same way until about 25k miles and mine started loosening up. It made a big improvement for me. I think the issue is over time the aluminum wears down and flexes.
They just did mine and I have a Synergy steering system, 4" lift, 37" tires and a Fox steering stabilizer. And also have the synergy steering brace. I didnt start noticing issues with my steering until about 25k miles but started feeling is loosen up and get notchy. So far the new steering...
I have held off because I didn’t see any issues but now have 30k miles and started having looser steering and a bit of catching while steering. Getting it relaxed on Wednesday. Hope it resolves the issues.
I have been on most trails at both and I would say yes the easier trails at AOAA are wider. But the more advanced trails are similar to Rausch from a narrow/wide perspective. But yes a few side scratches come with wheeling your Jeep.
same with me. Went to 35s because I wanted to go no lift but the truck seems to beg for 37s. 35s really don’t look much different from stock. 37s or even 38s seem to be perfect with the long wheelbase. I lasted about 6 months on 35s and then moved up to 37s.
Did you already buy the Willys? If not, I would suggest just going with the Rubicon. If you are looking at a locker immediately and will be using the Jeep off road you may end up better off with the additional Rubicon bits including the 4:1 transfer case, both front and rear lockers and...
I just picked up a JK and would like some stock Rubicon tires. I don’t need the wheels but would take them if you want rid of both. Let me know what you have and asking price. I can drive a little distance but not too far. I am in the Philly burbs.
I'm up for a trip depending on the snow situation. I wheeled in December after the big snow and it was a real challenge on any slight incline. A couple guys got a good bit of body damage from sliding into trees.
Maybe it depends on where you live. I travel up to NYC and down to DC often and when in traffic it is terrible. Can’t be good for the vehicle to turn off and on so much either. Either way, mine if now off and stays off and I don’t miss it.
I agree. I had the old design and had the same issue. My copper ring rotated and got jammed up and started making a lot of noise. They sent me the new one but I haven’t installed it yet.
I think everyone is asking too much of a gear change. And a 3500 lb camper should not be an issue even with stock 4.10s. Sure 4.88 or 5.13 would be better but I don’t think it will change the game when towing. A supercharger or hemi swap would change the game and the real issue is a lack of...
37s are the best look on the Gladiator. You are fine with 4.10 gearing unless you tow a heavy trailer. I did regear but only to tow my 5200 lb camper in the mountains.
