+1 to that. I went with the ~11 mil thick Xpel this time as opposed to the previous generation 8 mil. I have a few chips as well on the 4 door that went through the PPF (i.e., damaged it) but that did not actually damage the paint. I probably could have had those few spots repaired but never...
Might be less of an issue as well in San Diego. Granted, Wranglers are taller up and with a bug deflector you can probably skirt a lot of the rock chips. But overall, should have seen my wife's 320i without PPF after 3 years. Probably a solid 75 rock chips and literally full paint coming off...
Assuming that's from factory that's interesting. My JLUR didn't have that -- thought I added it, but maybe I'm wrong and it did. I did the full front end treatment of PPF on the 4 door knowing I wasn't keeping it longer than 4 years
It was just shy of $5k to have the entire vehicle covered on the Gladiator. It's about half that on the two door (or will be; waiting on delivery). Expensive yes. But pin striping will annoy the shit out of me and I'd just end up repainting it for that price (or more) anyway. I figure now I...
For people that wheel in forests, and those in the southwest — this is exactly why we use PPF. It really does help long term. But I do know many don’t care about pin striping etc. It’s personal preference tho.
All of my vehicles are hand washed excluding my wife’s 320i that we just turned in. Primary reason though is I just enjoy washing cars. Relaxing I guess. Also being in AZ it’s just not that much work unless you have a dark vehicle.
that said the gladiator and new wrangler have PPF on every...
No worries!
I stuck with shocks as I felt that to really take advantage of coil overs, I'd have other trade offs that I didn't want to make. My JK is on coil overs, but it's on a long arm 4-linked suspension mounted out board to ensure I can actually use them to their fullest. For this rig...
I kind of also generally feel that people might be expecting too much from a $1400 lift kit when you start throwing in additional variables that owners introduce like specific wheel/tire combination. For just highway driving maybe not I guess.
Hey all,
Originally I was planning on going with King's 2.5 performance shocks on my diesel gladiator (OEM valving spec, not EVO spec). I decided to do the Fox 3.0's instead (2x the price) and can't return these. Should also work fine for Diesel owners. $200 less than anywhere you can buy them...
on the JL I would rotate my spare in, but on the Gladiator I would just match the tire height as much as possible. Don't think brand is relevant if you are treating it as a donut more or less. But yeah, my 37" KO2's are 36.5, so I would buy a spare that's identical in height (or as close to it...
Yep. Tire size is a single variable that isn't solely responsible in determining mpg.
OP, you have Black Rhino Wheels (50 pounds?) and extremely heavy 35" tires (77 pounds). Assuming that is correct, that combination weighs more than some wheel tire setups on 38/40's. Consequently, there's your...
One thing to consider if you are on the fence between 35's and 37's -- if you stick to a tire like a KO2, there's not much additional negative going from 35 to 37 as the weight of that tire is very light. In my case, I have the stock MT's which actually weigh 63 pounds from the factory. A 37" in...
