Loved how easy it is to open, hate the noise when I get over 60-65 mph, took it off when I went on vacation because of the highway noise and was planning on being totally topless on vacation. Never put it back on, gave it to another member of our Jeep club to see if he had better luck.
I have a set of snow tires I put on my Gladiator every winter. I have them on the original rims. Starting, and more importantly, stopping on snow and ice is no problem.
When I first looked at the top, I thought that back part did come out like a targa, just because it looked like it was cut that way and why not make it easy to take off instead of a big top.
I would say it depends, are you talking about towing a few miles on relatively flat or towing hundreds of miles through the mountains. Also remember the 6,700 is no gas (add 240#) and gear. Plus keep in mind that passengers and gear in the Jeep lower capacity of truck.
