  1. Loving select-trac!

Some technical info that I haven't seen brought up in this thread: The "old" Selec-Trac with the NP/NV-242 had a planetary center differential in the transfer case allowing "true" all wheel drive with no binding. Putting it in part time mode locked that center differential. Sadly this awesome...
  2. Reaching out to those doing their own shock tuning?

It’s not much, but Mojave wheels would give 1/4” more clearance than Rubicon wheels.
  3. New Tray Bed

Doesn't look like the spare tire will fit anymore either.
  4. Idaho PENDING - Rubicon Steel Rear Bumper and Bed Rock Sliders

You’d think so, but having grown up in Texas it’s far worse up here. Somehow people in Idaho have convinced themselves that they’re in the South. Bumper is pending sale!
  5. Who's got my fuel mileage beat?

I managed 3 tanks at an average of 4.2 MPG in June. I was towing my RV west to Washington with a headwind the whole way. That was painful.
  6. Idaho PENDING - Rubicon Steel Rear Bumper and Bed Rock Sliders

After a year of traveling full time in an RV we bought the house up here right near the top of the market. With it suddenly trending down if we don’t sell soon we’re stuck. We’ve got family in SA, it’s kinda lonely up here with no one nearby, and we can get a place down there for $150k less...
  7. Idaho PENDING - Rubicon Steel Rear Bumper and Bed Rock Sliders

Hah! I’ll be going to San Antonio, but the goal is to not have to drag it cross country! I do still have it.
  8. 392 Steering Wheel Retrofit

I’ll be trading my Mojave in a few months and I’ll be pulling the paddles and wiring back off, so I’ll have a set available then for a good price. Exact timing depends on build times for a 2023 Ram 2500.
  9. Idaho PENDING - Rubicon Steel Rear Bumper and Bed Rock Sliders

SALE PENDING I’ve got the rear bumper off a rubicon and the bed sliders that go with it, as well as all hardware. No damage. I need to sell these as I’m moving from Idaho to Texas and I really don’t want to take them with me. Unfortunately I’m really busy, so it’s going to be pickup in the...
  10. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Can’t say I’ve ever seen that done before! How did it handle?
  11. Cam shaft and lifters

Wasn’t anything you did. It’s been happening more and more lately. There are several threads here on it.
  12. Mountain bike hauling

I have to angle my MTB (or put the tailgate in plywood hauling mode), but my gravel bike and my wife’s MTB both fit straight.
  13. Mountain bike hauling

I mounted a couple RockyMounts DriveShaft Track fork mounts to my trail rails. They’ve replaced that with a new mount now (the DropTop) but it should work the same. I can fit 3 bikes across like this, as long as the handlebars don’t line up perfectly. As I have carbon wheels they tend to ride in...
  14. AlfaOBD settings

I know we’re off topic here, but it surprises me that you have to do some fuse panel hacking to change it on the JT and JL. My old JK, Liberty, and the current RAM trucks have a 3 hole fuse slot where you can shift the fuse over to make the outlet always hit or only when in ACC/Run.
  15. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Turns out (due to needs the Jeep can't meet) that I'm going to have to trade my JT in for a 2500 in the near-ish future. The longer this thread gets the less bad I feel about it.
  16. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Something (several somethings really) just doesn’t make sense here. There are some consistencies (worn cam profiles) and a lot of inconsistencies (varying levels of wear, different/incorrect components installed, one side or both sides worn) between different cases. I’m wondering if the cams...
  17. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Did you find the wrong lifters on one side as well?
  18. Mark another one dead

Wow. When that thing went it *went*.
  19. Trailer Factory Equipped Backup Cameras and the Gladiator

I ended up not bothering and just mount it with the suction cup. If I position it right the bottom of the screen frame drops into the dash cubby a little bit. I pull a 26’ long 8’ wide RV. Even with towing mirrors the Jeep is so skinny you can’t see anything around the trailer without cameras.
  20. So thats what they're for...

That pic in the owners manual is for wrapping the Velcro straps around the side arms of the soft top so it doesn’t bounce, not for anything with the elastic straps.
