Why not get an Excursion? For the kind of money you’ll spend you can get a low mileage 7.3 with tons of space, solid axles, and money left to build it out.
Who is running 35 or 37 inch tires on a manual transmission? Have you regeared, and if so, to what? Trying to decide if I go 35s now and then spacer lift w 37s and a regear later. I live in the Appalachian mountains, so not as steep as folks out in the midwest, but not flat FL driving either.
Is this with a manual transmission? I know the 8spd can handle a lot of tire, but I've not been able to find a lifted manual transmission Gladiator to try out. My plan would be to run 35s if it's anything other than a Rubi, or 37s with a Rubi due to the higher fender clearance (all with manual...
How do you like the MT with the 35's? I'm getting ready to purchase and keep debating if stock gearing can handle 35s or if I'll need to re-gear right away (which would make a base Rubicon much closer in price). Interested to hear your experience.
Interested to see what folks have come up with. I'm looking for the same solution, and I love my 1Up racks so I'd be partial to being able to utilize those moving forward as well.
My experience has typically been the opposite. On a build, the dealer can discount as they have no skin in the game and are just getting a small fee for "hosting" the transaction, and maybe hoping it bumps their numbers enough to get a larger kickback from the manufacturer for the month. In...
Would love to be able to get the beefier axles and 4.10 gears but keep the manual transmission without having to get a Rubicon. The max tow is almost perfect, but I refuse to drive an automatic. I don't need it for the towing ability, and I don't need the extra stuff on the Rubicon. I just want...
If you've still got the factory rims and tires I'd toss those back on before taking it to the dealer. I could see them blaming it on an alignment shop or whoever installed the aftermarket wheels/tires (which is certainly a possibility).
I've had a few dealings with Jeep dealers in the Tampa Bay area over the years.
One I got from Mike Tieman at Dayton Andrews St Pete (he was very straight up with pricing, but they didn't have the color I wanted...I found it at Suncoast and told Suncoast I'd buy from them if they would match...
When I bought my last Jeep it was on a dealer trade. I had Dealer A that I was working with (who offered the best price off invoice, but didn't have the Jeep I wanted). I found the exact Jeep I wanted at Dealer B (who wouldn't budge on price). Dealer A offered to get it and still give me the...
Living in FL I can tell you that $799 dealer fee is actually very typical...MANY dealers have $899 or $999 dealer fees. It's very unusual to find a dealer with what would be a "normal" fee for other states. When I negotiate with dealers down here, I just push them that much harder on the selling...
My experience has been that the lower RV, even when combined with a deeper discount on the outgoing model, often makes it more expensive than the incoming model. I don't expect the 2021 to have anything different (at least anything I am concerned about), it's purely a matter of which is the...
Anyone know when the 2021’s should be available for build? Leasing due to business use and the 2020 residuals have dropped quite a bit since arrival so hoping to build a 2021 right when they are released.
A better comparison would have been the Sport with Max Tow (since they would both be lesser equipped versions)...that price differential would be fairly significant compared to a decked out Rubicon.
My last diminished value claim was from someone hitting my wife in her Prius (so roughly 50% of the value of a JT) which resulted in ~$4k in damages to a 6 month old car with 12k miles on it. After several negotiations, all repairs were paid for and I received a check for an additional $4.1k in...
