I tried updating - and there was no update available. That was inputting my VIN into the uconnect update site. You might be into something with the WiFi hotspot trial. I did just get that email also. I setup guardian right when I took delivery, so that hasn’t done anything.

Understood. So you keep the headunit you are really just upgrading the sound. Which is cool. This is a good idea for an upgrade.

How do you retain the functionality that was in the uconnect for controlling aspects of the vehicle, like climate control, convenience settings, etc?

I actually folded down my windshield to do this... Lies, actually I loosened the bolts and I held the windshield open as I made the holes and tightened everything.

I've been thinking... bed racks, toppers, etc... They make removing the hard top a tad complicated. You now would have to life the hard top up and over the side, front or rear - no so easy. Unless you have some kind of pulley system in your garage, or your 6'5" with a friend or mate who is...

If you have a black hard top, or soft top, I'd say the black will be better. In my case, I'm leaning towards it being white, with windows for some contrast.

I wish I could control the sensitivity of the throttle in ACC, and braking. It brakes too hard and throttles too hard for my tastes. Other than that I use it on every drive...

I’ve messed around some more with settings, still nothing... but, I had an epiphany! :idea: I wonder if it’s the Tazer JL Mini... one of its features is that it allows input into the nav even while driving. There is a disclaimer that having that enabled can cause the Uconnect to crash...

I haven’t found another one :( I am still very very very undecided about what to do. I’m rocking the roll up a little longer. I may opt for the mopar hard cover for a bit just to get one that really locks. That’s really messing with me.

Yea it’s pricey. In our uber long post about tops there are some more pictures about that same one. I personally think it’s too much for what it is...
