Lumber, computer chips, line-X... All these new shortages make the toilet paper shortage of 2020 look like ancient history :D
TP: The original shortage
I've said it before and will again - Jeep marketing did itself a disservice by promoting a 7,000 lb tow rating and showing the Gladiator towing a large Airstream.
I've towed many loads (including Airstreams big and small) with many trucks (including Rams of 5.7L Hemi and 5.9-6.7L Cummins). The...
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. By the third gear box, I'd guess the problem isn't the gear box. And how a gear box relates to a steering issue, I just can't understand.
(my response is directed at Jeep, not you)
I did the same - traded a Ram 1500 with 5.7L Hemi for the Pentastar. Power in the Gladiator is definitely a downgrade but it's fun. Give me a 5.7L Hemi in the Gladiator and problem solved. Don't need a 6.4L.
I ended up not using the clips. The front visors sit properly and don't fall down.
I know what you mean about the windows struggling to close. Mine still do that a little, but it's not too bad. With the visors installed, I deliberately don't roll the windows up all the way. When they reach the...
They sent the clips pronto! Kudos to WeatherTech for the prompt customer service. So the thing is... I'm embarrassed to say... the problem was (as another forum member pointed out) I didn't insert the deflectors into the proper location. Once I did this, without the clips, everything works as...
Applied heat helps (or a warm day with decal sitting in direct sunlight), but also a flat plastic edge (such as a credit card or a plastic spreader tool) coated with a little WD-40 or liquid lock lube. The lube helps dissolve the gummy adhesive, makes it easier to shave off the decal bit by bit...
Thanks for the tip! Clearly a case of "operator error" on my part, and I even read the instructions.
Very happy to report they are working perfectly now. Thanks @miseryshusband
Following up on my post - it turns out now that both front window visors are falling down when the windows are rolled down, even after letting them sit with windows rolled up for 48 hours per WeatherTech's recommendation.
I assume (you know what they say about assumptions...) what's happening...
In my opinion the trailer weight is more important than trailer length. If you aim for 4,000 lb loaded, or perhaps even a little more, you should be fine. A properly leveled weight distributing hitch is a must. Not needed for say a 2,000 lb load but for 3,500+, yes.
I've had the window deflectors on jeeps and a Ram before. I love them and just installed them on the JT.

They arrived today and I just installed them.
You have to give the front ones a really good flex to get them inserted (this is normal) - but I always feel like they're going to break and send shrapnel into my face. Wearing safety glasses during this part wouldn't be a bad idea!
Installation...
In my opinion when all is said and done the real issue is the motor, and being said trailer control is the easier problem to solve.
If you break down towing into 3 basic modes: pulling; cruising; slowing.
Pulling: It's a 3.6L V6 with 260 lb ft of torque. It has its limits.
Cruising: It's a...
