I want to thank everyone for their input in this discussion. Apparently, the pictures I posted in this thread assisted Oracle Lighting with understanding my situation. They have offered to ship me the correct fog lights for my Jeep Gladiator at no charge.
My objective here was not to attack...
Indeed, Internet forums are the proverbial double-edged sword. Oracle made a sale by contacting me on the forum when I asked about headlight options. And now I'm using the forum to express my concerns about issues with returning a product which did not fit as advertised.
Thank you for the reply. By stating, "while we are emailing", you are suggesting I chose to post on the forum instead of using the email chain. However, in that email chain your representative clearly stated the policy and that there was nothing further to discuss. This is what lead me to seek...
The fog lights box was kinda beat up when I got it. Maybe it didn't do so well on the return trip to New Orleans. This is how I received the headlight/fog light package. The two boxes were wrapped together and inside a plastic bag.
I used the original box when I returned the fog lights. I taped...
I'm feeling the same way. I keep thinking if there's anything I could have done to scuff those lights and there's just no way. This is what the fog lights looked like when I received them. When I sent them back, they looked the same way.
Oracle said if I want the same lights back, I would have to pay shipping. So I guess Oracle gets to keep my money and the lights. This situation is lousy in just so many ways.
I was under the impression Oracle Lighting is not a giant company. I thought they were a smaller company which is one of the reasons I decided to order from them. Here are the pics they sent me.
I don't want to be a jerk about this. I like my Oculus headlights. It's just a very unfortunate situation. I really didn't scuff the lights and, based on what I'm hearing and seeing from Oracle, it really does seem like the fog light lenses are very delicate.
Maybe I should just ask Oracle to...
To follow up, although I like the Oculus headlights, the fog lights did not fit. I provided my correct vehicle description and ordered the correct part number. Oracle asked me to return the fog lights and they provided a shipping label. Cool.
Even if I had taken pictures before I shipped the lights, I'd be in the same situation. The lights they have are scuffed, so they won't accept them as a return. They won't accept my word and I doubt they would accept pictures.
I can conclude only that the lights got scuffed during shipping or...
I'm not sure how to proceed here. Last November I ordered headlights and fog lights from Oracle. The headlights are great. I had to return the fog lights because they would not fit my Gladiator. Oracle was very good about communicating with me. They said the lights I ordered should have fit, but...
Not Jeep-related, but when I was in the Navy, I temporarily deployed aboard a battleship with a staff for an exercise in the Caribbean. We were underway near Puerto Rico one day and the ship was doing a live fire exercise with the 16" guns. All three guns on all three turrets were firing. Then...
I find the "heroic" efforts by the dealers mentioned in the article kinda funny. I think what really happened is a lot of people who wanted a Gladiator walked away after dealers refused to eliminate ridiculous markups or offer a reasonable discount. When Pandemicland broke out, dealers were...
