I did look at that one and it's built well but I really like a king size bed. The Tune M1 has a 72" wide king and you can option it with a propane Truma heater, so I wouldn't need to cut holes and DIY a heating system.
Looks great and that's such a bargain at under 11k. Definitely the route I'd go if I wasn't trying to sleep a family of 3.
I've been looking at the Tune M1 but it's nearly double the price once fully built to my spec. 😓 Still something on my radar for the future.
MetalCloak springs are designed to support an additional 600lbs of weight over the factory load rating.
They do that because, for an offroad vehicle, we usually add a bunch of stuff to our vehicles. lol
Shocks and 20" wheels are likely more important to the ride quality issues that you're...
That's a wild story. lol they saw your wife and thought it was payday.
Yeah the shop I'm referring to was just making a suggestion for upgrade since we're replacing a ton of stuff already. I might do it still.
Yeah sounds like it's probably unnecessary unless I just wanted to reinforce for the sake of being over built for 98% of what I do.
Their suggestion likely comes from their perspective, and they regularly rock crawl a lot harder stuff than I usually do.
We're not repairing anything.
The reason behind the suggestion is just because we're installing a ton of upgrades to outfit the vehicle to be capable off road. I wouldn't assume any malice in the suggestion.
I'm just curious, at what point in a build does the rear driveshaft become a weak...
Artec and Motobilt both make AWESOME stuff... and those were close 2nd place options for me.
I ended up ordering Relentless Fabrication front & rear bumpers though.
The front, I wanted a few things.
1. Recessed winch (minimal impact on airflow to the grille)
2. Provisions for factory LED fogs...
In case it's relevant, my question is in the context of a 2023 JT Rubicon Diesel.
I have a long list of mods to be installed which includes a 3.5" MetalCloak lift and 38"x13.5R17 tires.
One of the shops that I've been talking to is recommending that I go ahead and do the rear driveshaft...
If anyone is near Gardendale, AL and wouldn't mind offering up their JT diesel for R&D testing, RPM Extreme is looking for someone that can assist.
Unconfirmed but I imagine it will come with either a free or heavily discounted fan controller...
I hate to say it but now with multiple people reporting the same problem, it sounds like the product isn't ready for prime time.
I don't assume there's a ton of people running these yet, being so new. So with 2 complaints of the same problem already, it might be more a design flaw than a...
Is it possible that the brackets are specific to L/R side and you got the mixed up? Or they're assembled wrong from factory?
Might be some adjustment tricks. I think contacting Baja Designs is the best route, either way. They answer their phone and have great customer service in my experience.
I'm sure there's plenty of examples of OEM parts failures at Mopar. Baja Designs is awesome, they're a high end company and I'm confident that they'll take care of this better than a Jeep dealer would.
I understand the frustration and desire to wanting these to work without downtime but why not just call Baja Designs and have them warranty these?
I would be worried about voiding the warranty if they're modified.
You actually get used to it after a couple days on the trails in CO. It's pretty common to be off camber on a shelf road, leaning over a cliff.
You come out of it with a lot more confidence and a much better understanding of your vehicle's capabilities.
It's a great place to test the limits...
Nice, I'm just north of you a couple hours in Roseville. Will be dropping my JTRD off to MetalCloak/CloakWorks on the 15th for the full treatment but I'm doing artec skids to save weight. 🤑
