Is it normal to need a spacer with just a 3.5" lift and the 2 piece driveshaft? I'd probably just invest in a 1350 driveshaft before spacers.
Guessing you're talking about a single piece 1350? There is a factory-like 1350 2-piece from Dana Spicer. Going single is one of my biggest regrets...I still haven't gotten rid of the vibration at higher speeds.

To all the people on this thread talking about upgrading your rear driveshaft u-joints, please go look at your rear driveshaft and evaluate the current condition of your u-joints. Report back your findings.
Spoiler alert- Stock JT rear driveshafts don’t have u-joints.

Appreciate the feedback from personal experience. JE Reel 2 piece is the likely choice I'd go with.

It makes me smile to think that a repair shop would be bold enough to tell someone a drive shaft was just worn out. Not that he was saying that, just the idea of it.

Reminds me of when a guy told my wife her dipstick showed the transmission fluid was low, worn out and needed to be flushed. She called me saying it didn't sound right. I told her to get her car and get out.
First off, no one in their right mind would "flush" a transmission at 150k miles unless they wanted to buy a new transmission. Second, it didn't have a dipstick or trans fluid. It was an old school manual.

He called me back trying and failing to explain the importance of clean atf. I said "did you drive the car into the shop?"-yes. "Think about it...". He just said "oh" and hung up.

That's a wild story. lol they saw your wife and thought it was payday.

Yeah the shop I'm referring to was just making a suggestion for upgrade since we're replacing a ton of stuff already. I might do it still.

I'm not running a 1 piece DS. But physic wise, 2 shorter piece of tubes supporting by a bearing in the middle is more forgiven to imbalance and wobbles.

"I didn't read the thread but wanted to reply anyway" lol

There's no bad driveshafts or U joints to speak of in this thread.

I have a 2019 JTO with over 200k miles that I rock crawl and tow with. I have a 3.5" MC lift. I still have the stock driveshaft. The only thing that I have additional is a rock jock spacer. Regeared and lockers. And the stock driveshaft is still putting in work.
