As mentioned before any deeper gear will help that condition if you keep the same diameter tire. But if you step down in gear ratio and up in tire size you're basically netting the same result. 5.13's eliminate that issue.
Yup, me too. The general consensus says 5.13's hands down. At least on this forum anyway. And that's for real world every day driving. Everyone has they're own opinion and that's cool too.
Agreed, they are super modular and can be made into any configuration you can dream of. Love my AR's too. All one needs is big piles of cash. Sounds like you should follow your gut and go with the 4.88’s the experts recommend. It's alot of time and money to put out there to not be sure about...
That will look great! I have yet to hear anyone say they regret going with 5.13’s. I have however heard some say they wish they would have went 5.13’s instead of 4.88’s. 5.13’s just open up options for future growth if you ever wanted. At the end of the day you being happy with your rig is all...
Yeah no worries. I'm far from an expert myself. This has just been my experience and I'm really happy with my gearing set up. Moving from 3.73's to 5.13's was a HUGE jump and I honestly questioned it before hand but in hind sight it was the perfect move for me and my application. I would do it...
The pics at the beginning of this thread are real world highway speeds/RPM's. The rpms don't seem out of line or high to me. But I don't remember how they were when it was bone stock. It wasn't stock for very long.
I have a Willys that came with factory limited slip rear and open front differentials. I wanted lockers and found someone selling Rubicon take offs. Complete axle assemblies front and rear. They already had 5.13's installed. That's how I came onto them and I'm so glad I did. I am still currently...
That has happened to mine as well. Driving 75 mph into a headwind sounds like the whole thing is being ripped off! But I guess that's just part of having a soft top.
The 2 tops I'm referring to are the hard tops. I only have 1 lift/storage place to use while my voyager is installed. Problem is the lift is occupied and I can't use it to remove/store her top when she wants it off. I'll end up getting a second lift and that will solve the problem.
It is indeed a pain. Wouldn't be an issue for me if I only owned one JT. I have one of those J-Bar lifts and leave it hanging. My issue is my wife wants her top off too so I have to deal with 2 tops.
It may have taken a day or 2 of stretch time but window is pretty flat. I've had this installed for several months and LOVE this top. My wife has the sun rider on her JT so I can compare both. I very much prefer the sunriders latch system. On the voyager I prefer the look of the top laying flat...
It has been a work in progress for sure. It just started with an idea and I built on it as I went. Made some adjustments along the way but all in all I'm very happy with my rig. I bought a new dd a couple weeks ago. It's a Buick Encore that is averaging 32 mpg. This has made a huge difference...
Sway bar disconnects would also be an affordable upgrade that will payoff big on the trail. It will allow your tires to remain in contact on more technical terrain than with your sway bar connected. This will make up some for the need of lockers on mild to moderate trails. JKS makes a great...
