According to the state of Wisconsin, my JT is considered and licensed as a class C truck (same as the Ram 1500 I traded on it). Still scratching my head on that one.
As far as station wagons, the only vehicle I think of today is a Subaru Outback.
I was mainly relating the JT suspension design and handling similarities (live front axle) to that '85 Silverado. Otherwise, that old Chevy rode like a lumber wagon!
Really, the JT does many things well. And yes, opinions are subjective. Every driver expects different things from their truck...
I don't know what other vehicles you have experienced to compare with your JT. For me it is definitely not the most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned. Not by a long shot. But the JT is not designed to be that. In fact, the handling most resembles the 1985 Silverado 4x4 I bought new back...
It's not surprising that Jeep denies claims like this. In their minds, this is just one of hundreds of available aftermarket mods that may compromise the integrity of the intended factory design.
I am certain it happens every day and is quite common. Can't take it too personal.
It will be interesting how new offerings from the competition affect the future of the JT.
Very solid demand and pre-sales already with the 2023 "twins" (Colorado/Canyon) and all new 2024 Ranger and Tacoma coming soon are also generating lots of attention.
We'll see.
Lots of factors to regard. You didn't mention the year, mileage or the factory options (use the V.I.N. to pull up the original window sticker online). These are all things to take into consideration when determining value.
Mods do not always add value to a vehicle as they are subjective. In...
I think the point was that the fob has to very close to dash area to communicate and start vehicle. No faraday bag and full battery power.
Yes, a separate issue from fob signal protection that blocks copy devices that duplicate in order for thieves to get to test drive your Jeep.
Not sure what you intend for using a JT (towing, rock crawling, trail gunning or daily driver) but if a smooth ride quality is what you are after, consider driving a Mojave to compare.
I may be a bit biased, but I sure like mine! ;)
I agree with you. Although the power and torque could be improved, I would never tow 5,500 pounds with the JTM. My UTV and aluminum trailer weigh in at around 2,500 lbs. Throw some cross winds into the mix and forget it. Gets pretty squirrely. ?
No Aux switches either. Another option not available (or would have significantly delayed my order). I only tow 2,500 pounds max anyway and that is very seldom. Never had any kind of a temp issue.
Being honest, I don't care for how the JT handles even towing at that weight. Especially on a...
Not doubting what you state for your mileage. We just often compare here.
I am running load range C KO2's in the stock (Mojave) size of LT285/70R17. True diameter according to BFG is 32.8" with a weight of 51.4 lbs. Wheels are Quadratec Gunmetal 41 with a weight of 31 lbs.
But as we have all...
