  1. Additional Skids Needed?

I am getting ready to take my new Gladiator Rubicon to some rock crawling trails. I am stock height with 35" tires so a little taller than stock but for sure expect to hit the belly on more rocks than my JKUR with a 3.5" lift and 35s. The stock skids seem decent but anyone have any suggestions...
  2. Hardtop vs sottop

It’s easier to get it from the factory with a hardtop and add the soft top later than the other way around. You also get the wiring hookups for the rear defrost if you get hardtop from factory. The hard top is quieter and warmer in the winter especially if you get the headliners. Adding a soft...
  3. Long Road Trips- Overland or Rubicon

I do think the suspension differences change the ride as well. There at at least 3 different suspensions on Gladiators (maybe more) with the Sport and Overland sharing similar setups, the sport s max tow with the stiffest suspension (to support the added tow capacity) and the Rubicon being...
  4. Long Road Trips- Overland or Rubicon

Both have a purpose. If you don’t intend to use lockers and sway bar disconnects on off road trails there is no reason to spend the extra for a Rubicon. One note, if you want leather and many of the features of the Overland or Rubicon that aren’t available on a Sport and also want the higher tow...
  5. GRANITE CRYSTAL JT Gladiator Club

Nice looking GC Gladiator and nice Ferrari next to it!
  6. Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x12.5x17 fuel economy

I have a similar setup. No lift on Rubicon and running 35x12.5 Ridge Grapplers on stock wheels and I get 18 highway running about 70 mph and average with about 50/50 highway city driving about 16. I have just under 4000 miles.
  7. Recall and Stop Sale on Certain 2020 Gladiators For Bad Driveshafts

The rear driveshaft goes from the transfer case to the rear differential. Likely hard to see if there is or isn’t grease in it though without pulling it apart at the joints.
  8. Decent deal?

If they won’t show you the actual invoice paperwork it’s not a good deal. Demand to see it and then make your decision.
  9. 35s on stock rubicon rims

I had them price match Walmart. Also no tax from them shipped to VA.
  10. 35s on stock rubicon rims

Not sure if there is an option for the same wheel or not but yes my Rubicon with nearly every option has a different wheel for a spare.
  11. 35s on stock rubicon rims

Yes they are wider. 35x12.5R17. Very typical size for 35s. No issues installing on stock wheels. I paid $1100 at discount tire direct for 4 of them (picked up a used 35 for free as the spare) and sold my stock tires for $600. With the Gladiator the spare runs on a different wheel so you wouldn’t...
  12. Towed a Defender 90 for a friend today

Definitely the wheelbase makes all the different in the world on stability. My GC was a 2018 so drove great but I rarely miss it with the Gladiator. I did a cross country tow with the GC last summer pulling my 4500lb travel trailer and appreciated both the V8 power and seating comfort of the...
  13. Towed a Defender 90 for a friend today

Overall I am very happy with the Gladiator Rubicon for towing. I traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with the 5.7L V8 and while it towed stronger up hills, the Gladiator seems more stable. I haven't tried out the Sport S to see if the stiffer suspension would be better than the softer...
  14. Escape Camper: Yea or Nay?

Looks ok and within specs. Have you found anyone selling the 5th wheel adapter that works for the Gladiator?
  15. First tow today

Nice. I used a uhaul trailer to tow a Defender 90 last week and towed with the Defender pulled forward on the trailer which created quite a bit of tongue weight. I thought about backing it on to reduce the weight but was worried about the trailer swinging due to engine weight in the rear. Any...
  16. Towed a Defender 90 for a friend today

Jeep computer said 12.1 average for the trip.
  17. Towed a Defender 90 for a friend today

Thanks. For sure the Defender is awesome but the JT is a lot more comfortable to drive and very close to the capability of the Defender.
  18. Anyone have time in the seat with all the Safety features on the Launch Edition

Right. No lane departure but that annoyed me in my Grand Cherokee so I turned it off anyway. I have 3000 miles.
  19. Anyone have time in the seat with all the Safety features on the Launch Edition

I don’t have a LE but have a Rubicon with all the options. The safety features are great and do work. It alerts with cars stopping quickly in front of me or when changing lanes and will auto stop if I fail to do it (which so far I haven’t needed). I do use and love the radar cruise control...
