The company has a whopping 400 and change reviews on Amzn. Honestly I would have hoped that the forum admins would have higher standards for any vetting process, _before_ allowing them to solicit to their valuable members. I thought a lot of these offshore companies pay ppl to provide reviews, so it’s hard for me to trust them. Just my 2 cents.

When we designed and tested this product, we chose a model with a steel hood, and we can confirm that it has enough support to assist in holding the hood.

I agree that struts meant to safely support a 40-60lb steel hood should probably not be used on a 20-30lb aluminum hood, and may stress mounting points that were not designed to be mounting points.

But I seriously doubt the company that seems to have copied Redline's products down to every last detail EXCEPT for the different struts for different hood weights is going to call Redline for engineering advice, lol. Though I would LOVE to listen in on that call if they did.

Yeah, there was nothing to design - that part caught me in a prior post. Grab a product, duplicate it, save any R and D work and testing. Look at the straps sold elsewhere here. Same thing under different names. Check all of the sellers in Amazon

I have had mine for a couple of months now. It held up my hood with a load of frozen ice and snow on it.
It's hard to believe but I notice a lot more room available while working under the hood and not having to work around that post.

Interesting that in almost every way - brackets and all look just like redline.
And Redline has struts for the aluminum hoods - and heavier struts for the Mojave and other steel hoods. There's a difference in the struts.
IMO, a copy of Redline.

You clearly have the Redline Tuning struts. Redline makes one kit for aluminum hood Jeeps, and a DIFFERENT kit for the heavier steel hoods. The ones being discussed here are made by "Tecbaba", who is selling the same kit for both aluminum and steel hoods.

I'm not fond of someone copying someone else's idea, regardless of cost, especially from China.

I agree with that. I would get some but I k now that the rod will always work without failure.
