Or it could be "Don - Nighthawk" from the "I’m new here - could be great…" thread.

Which turned out not so great?
I think he meant "could be great if you all calm down".

That's for CAFE reasons, not for your engine's longevity. Do you really trust Jeep?

You truly are ignorant of engines and oiling and how it all works. Wow, never seen anyone so badly informed.

I trust the MILLIONS of these engines out there with ZERO issues running the 0w20 oil as being evidence the oiling is fine.
You've been reading too many conspiracy threads.

You ignore those who know more, with real experience and who have facts behind them, and believe your own made up crap.

There's just no hope for you - refusing to learn anything at all.

You actually believe that the oiling is an issue - and yet we've seen, shown, and Jeep has demonstrated, that's not the case, and techs even have said "it's not an oil viscosity issue" but you refuse facts and live under your tin foil hat.

Looks to me like you came here for one reason and one only - to troll on your ignorance on oil, viscosity, and prove you really don't know and haven't tried to learn.
Yeah, that's a form of trolling, so they WERE right about that.

That's also a forum - and there's a lot of crap there, too.
Been there, over and over, many times.
Most of them are just ordinary people expressing opinions.
We're putting out facts here.
The valve train issue on these is NOT a viscosity issue.

There's even a TSB about it and look at the cut-off date -

Thick oil doesn't hurt anything, it is the other way around. When your oil temp reaches 230 and 240 degrees on the trail, you don't want XW-20 anything there. Again, I welcome you to BITOG.

Buy 'em books, send 'em to school and they chew the covers off the books.
Ignorance about oil that's too thick causing extra heat and not carrying heat away from critical parts. No hope for this one. Broken record, stuck on something he's read, no real experience or real education.

Nope, no hope for this one.
Just hope no one else falls for that crap.
(I have test proof behind me)

OP, don’t take it personally. Shadowspapa hasn’t been this angry and verbose since the last oil thread. But that was days ago so you probably won’t see him repeat this behavior on a different thread anytime today

to everyone else, it would be interesting to learn the highest miles on reliable engines that used heavier oil

I don’t plan to change from OEM, but I welcome data

The thickest 0W-20 is 9.0 cSt at 212 degree F, most 0W-20s are 8.2-8.4. Now imagine that at 240 degrees F, now we are talking 0w-16 or lower. 0W-20 is fine for daily driving, not for offroading in the desert heat or towing in heat.
