If I stopped that far back from the intersection, I probably wouldn't have an issue seeing the light . Where I grew up and learned to drive, though, if you didn't pull up to the line you got honked at and/or the light would never change.

I just drove to lunch and paid attention to this. I could see stoplights without ducking. I suppose on a very narrow intersection it might be a problem, but not for most intersections I encounter.
