I plan to run AEV Pintlers with 37 Ridge Grapplers.

I'm looking for opinions on getting the 12.5 vs. 13.5. I think the 13.5 will look better, but it is an extra 6lbs per tire.

If you're debating on them, just go with 13.50's. It's the same as debating 35's vs 37's... Go with the 37's first, because you will still end up with them in the end, after buying the 35's and then losing money selling them. Might as well just buy once, and cry once.

It won't effect any fuel mileage, but it will add you an extra 1" of traction... And what man couldn't always use an extra inch...Just ask any woman.

12.5". Those tires are heavy enough & a narrower tire handles better on the road and works better in snow & mud. But if you like that wider look than go for the 13.5"

The 12.50 Ridge Grapplers are already a "wide" 12.50 compared to most. This is on 8.5” wide wheels, with a similar offset to the Pintler.

Do you mind snapping a photo from head-on down one side to see the profile of the tire outside of the fender?

The wheel offset plays more of a part in that than the tread width. The JK Pintler is +10, while the JL/JT Pintler is +25. The wheels I am running are are +11, so take all of that in to consideration.

Here’s another question to ask yourself between the two... the 12.5 is a D rated tire and the 13.5 is an E... the E will be a little more stiffer. I have the 12.5’s and I love them and have had no issues offroad and the on road ride is smooth.

I have stumbled upon you. Putting the search feature to work. I'm moving up to 37's from 35x12.5, and didn't know if I wanted to move up to 13.5 also. Michigan snow and mud, so I think I'll stick with 12.5 for better traction. So much info in our forum. Love it. Oh and sorry if you didn't want this thread bumped :headbang:

I have the 37 x 13.5 and love them. The highway ride is still very smooth. I like the extra wirdth, but it all comes down to individual prefference. It s pouring rian here or I would go take detailed pics. This is the best I currently have on my phone.
