I had no idea that you could buy jeep parts from Montgomery Ward back in the day.

I wish the prices were the same as back then!

The steering stabilizer for the Willy's, part A209, isn't much less than the Fox 2.0 one for the Gladiator.

I just checked, the amount I saw was 219.00. Where can I get one for 20 bucks?

You used to as recently as the 1990s be able to buy just about an entire CJ from the JC Whitney catalog, too.
Years ago I thought about doing something like that. I had a buddy who tried to sell me one of his early CJ's if it would have been his CJ-6's I would have jumped on buying it. I kinda regret not buying the one that I could have. . . That probably led me to my 05LJ since it's more closely related than the Scrambler CJ-8). Funny, I had been waiting for Jeep to put out another pickup since the Comanche was killed off. Fortunately I got cold feet on what I almost bought so time before the Launch of the Gladiator's.
Back O.T. I definitely bought some stuff from J.C. Witney's over the years and SEARS. I really miss the Montgomery and Wards, SEARS and like company's of the past. I was shuffling though some things in my Comanche the other day and found a box from them. A flexible pipe from manifold to tail pipe/ muffler.

The value of the dollar brings that twenty dollars to near two hundred dollars today

You use to be able to buy houses from Sears.

If I remember correctly, you could basically buy anything from the Montgomery Ward catalog. A one stop shop for everything.
I can remember my grandpa telling about buying a 22 and a singleshot shotgun from MonkeyWards.
Not sure if they were mail order or if he went into the store.

I many years ago I bought a new soft top for my 67 CJ5 from JcPenny. Had it shipped to the store in town and picked it up there. A few years later the zippers on the windows broke, they sent me to a local shop that sewed in heavy brass zippers free of charge.
