I'd like to get some opinions on this decision for planning purposes.

I'm planning out my future build and looking at suspension; we had good luck with Metalcloak on the LJR and I want to go that direction again. The JT is the daily, so I'm looking at 2.5" with 35" tires. I'm on the fence between the 2.5" gamechanger lift and the 2.5" 4-link. There's the cheaper True Dual Rate kit, but, I'm not sure if the OE control arms will run into issues with binding.

Eventually I would upgrade the shocks, but I would start with the basic ones from Metalcloak until the budget can catch up and get some good Fox or Kings.

Keep in mind to take full advantage of the kits you mentioned you will need a new front driveshaft as well, all in price if you do the install yourself $3700-$5200... and you don't even get the shocks you want. It doesn't sound like you plan on doing a lot of hardcore wheelin and your keeping the lift/tire size very moderate, I don't see any reason to spend the money replacing all of the control arms.

You will get much more bang for your buck and immediate enjoyment spending more on the shocks you want and upgrading control arms later, if you ever see the need to upgrade control arms.

With the 2.5" lift, if you want to keep the cost down, get the MOPAR LCA's for their lift kit.
You'll be right in the ball park.

Yep, I'm accounting for the driveshaft in the lift budget. You're right, I'm not doing hardcore wheeling, we have the LJR for that, but I want to get as far as I can with the JT so my wife can drive her Wrangler more. When the trails get too technical for the JT, we will pile in the LJ.

I could go with the Mopar LCAs, I hadn't thought of that option. I was under the impression that doing the MOPAR 2.5" was considered kind of a waste because it's so similar to what I already have.

They are .25" longer than stock.

This is one area I would justify spending a bit more, adjustable control arms are a big plus for getting the front end aligned BETTER then factory no matter lift height.
