So I had the crop scared out of me. While I was driving on a bridge I went over the expansion joint which caused my 1st real DEATH WOBBLE experience. Now it happens to me on highway every time I hit bump. Dealership said they suspect the damper is causing it but both shocks ARE leaking at 19k miles. NOW IM WAIT FOR THOSE 3 PARTS

2nd issue of the week. This is now the 2nd time this happened. Upon strting in morning while parked outside and facing down a hill the vehicle will try to start but starts shaking and bouncing. I can't stop it for few seconds. It sounds bad..... Fuel and oil levels are good. Dealership said no codes, battery was checked, starter was checked= cause unknown !!!!! I did drive on highway afterwards so battery did have opportunity to charge IF IF that was the cause of the rough start.

Any thoughts on either of these issues?

Various things could cause steering shimmy / death wobble.

Three of the four shocks on my '22 Sport were pissing oil by 25K miles. They are garbage. I replaced them with Bilstein 5100s as I didn't have time to go to the dealer and get more junk shocks even if under warranty.

A good damper helps. Some will say it covers other problems, some say they have nothing to do with death wobble - I don't have a dog in that race.

Death wobble can be caused by bad ball joints, a loose bolt or bad bushing in the tie rod, drag link, a control arm, or the track bar - among other things.

Are you getting a heavy shimmy over this bump that goes away on its own, or a full death wobble that violently shakes the wheel and you have to slow down to make it stop?

Did you do anything to the tires recently? I just put new tires on my truck and started getting a good shimmy over some bumps.

Went to a different tire shop and had the balance redone. First shop was way off. Truck is solid now. A bad tire or bad balance will trigger a wobble.
