Not sure if my situation is helpful but I have the 5100's but they are valved to match my AEV lift. I am really a fan of the combo I have. I have said in many posts that I liken the ride of the 5100's to be similar to a sportier German vehicle ride (BMW, Audi, Volkswagen) where the vehicle is highly damped. My Jeep feels planted on the road, does not lean as much when turning. It is firm on bumps and then settles immediately...it does not bounce multiple times like the stock or Fox suspension. Off road it is great as well but again more on the firm side. This is the type of ride I prefer. With them covered for life by AEV, I see no reason to ever make a change.

I have a 25 Willys with Mopar lift springs and Bilstein 5100’s as others have mentioned they are firm . I love the stability they give but with the NE Ohio winter roads and heaves, the rear is harsh to the point the rear feels like the tires leave the road over rough side streets with heaves ( picture small speed bumps). And the tailgate will bounce and rattle in the closed position. My best description reminds me of old pickup truck with stiff leaf springs or air shocks on a car to clear those M-50 tires (I’m old lol.
I imagine with a couple hundred pounds in the bed it would probably ride a lot better.
So come spring I am considering experimenting with some different brands.
