I like them both. Makes me realize there's more offroading in Florida than you would think

Gobi is the best color too
Down in the southern part, there are three big WMA's that allow for it. Its mostly swamp and trails but there is something sketchy about maintaining engine speed and momentum slowing to a stop when youre in 3 feet of water and its just slipping 😅

For it to be your first Jeep, You definitely did it 100!
Great job. Oh and love the Gobi colors...😁
Thanks man!

Jeep and BMW ownership, and a ///M Big Sniff at that?

Man, you must really hate your money. 😂
I am a glutton for punishment 😆

Repeat after me. “It’s just money.” 💸
This is how I fall asleep at night

Proper 4D M3! Both are 6SPD too!! Both FAST & FURIOUS!!
I've had just about every generation M3 after the E36 and they've all been manuals. I had gotten into a C63 a few years back, because, well twin turbo V8 and why not? The one thing that vehicle was missing was a manual. I small piece of me will die with this M3 as BMW said they'll no longer make standards in them anymore.

I like those fender flares. What inner liners are you using with them?
Honestly, the cheapest ones I could find on ebay. I'll go back in my purchases and send you a PM.

This might be a silly question, but do your front tires throw huge rooster tails when it rains?

It rains here about 8-9 months per year, and nearly every day in the winter. Not like Florida rain (I’m from Mississippi originally). Our rain is usually just more constant drizzle and rarely gets crazy heavy, at least in the valley. Thunderstorms are rare, however there is a good bit of water on the roads most of the time.

Just wondering what it would be like living with those fenders on a daily driver. I like how they look and I like the price.

😂 Huge rooster tails, in standing water, yes very much so. My kid loves when I hit puddles for that reason. Typically, even at highway speeds, the rooster tail isn't bad at all. Its not a constant stream unless I'm in a downpour or I run over pooled up water. The fenders are enough to [for the most part] keep it off the truck.

Surprised I haven't seen this thing around as I am in that area. Haven't taken mine on any local trails though, historically take swamp buggies out. But that will eventually change as well. Maybe I'll run into ya one day. Love to see it.

What area are you in?

We can get the permit as a 'swamp buggy' and do just fine on those trails. The way to get it is you have to take off your license plate and tow the jeep/ gladiator to get inspected. That will get you access to the nastier trails.

Fort Lauderdale Area.
The main areas we go with the swamp buggies don't allow "street legal" (registered really) vehicles.

After the fenders, the mods really started going on. Front Antirock, RPM Steering 2.5" steering bars, Falcon adjustible front stabilizer, 1.5" spacer for the front suspension to level it out, 1.75" wheel spacers all around, front truss and Motobilt fr/r diff covers. Did a new flex test; couldnt tell you what it was, but picked up a few inches. Mostly from the antirock and new fenders.

By now, we really started to use this more and more, the weather was changing, so that meant camping and hunting trips.

Then it was time for proper wheels and tires, Nitto Trail Grappler (later shiddy Parallers) and KMC Grenades. Oh, and somewhere along the lines, I did Motobilt sliders with the side-step PC'd in clear:

We get a ton of rain in south Florida...

Somewhere along I debadged it. I do this to everything, I'm weird like that.

Kept it like this for a while, until I didnt.

Whole front refresh! Front and rear adjustable Tereflex upper control arms (the off the shelf lift had fixed uppers), New bumper? Send it! Krashfab frame chop front bumper and a Warn VR Evo 12000. Updated Grille to the 25+. Also added GK knuckle lights and yellow Baja Designs S1's and twin yellow LP6:

This setup was good enough for my first trip to Windrock. 700+ miles driven up, not trailered, four days of wheeling blues and blacks, and the 700+ mile trek back. Solid as a rock, and fell more in love with this thing than ever.

I spotted some Maxxis RAZR MTs here that you didn’t seem to mention. I’ve been curious about those tires for a few years now, but haven’t bought any. How were they compared to the Nitto Trail Grapplers? Which is the better tire on the highway for longer trips? Thanks for answering my 21 questions.

Haha, no problem bro. Yea, my friend sold his MAXXIS to me and he upgraded to Trail Grapplers. They were used, I bought them for 1k off him and installed them when I got my beadlocks. For me, they were OK. He wasn’t going to get them again and wanted the TG. I kept them for about six months and ditched them before Windrock for TG. I dumped them because they had a horrible vibration from 47-53 and it sent me into a death wobble several times. I was told they were much better when new, but I wasn’t going on a 1500 mile round trip with a ticking time bomb. The TG are butter with minimal vibration.

For me it was between the TG and Mickey T’s. I’ll prob try the MT next, but I am happy as a pig in sh!t with the TG

A few years ago I talked to a guy in California who ran a 35 inch Maxxis RAZR MT on his Tacoma. He said they seemed to flat spot when parked for a couple of days and took some time to warm up and balance out once he drove on them again. I didn’t love hearing that. Just wanted to get someone else’s opinion on them so I appreciate it. That’s two people who have said they were less than smooth at times. I’ll steer clear of them.

I have always needed to wheel to support my lifestyle (hunting). I had a couple Silverado’s on 35’s; the last one I had, I built for 35’s and immediately regretted not getting 37’s. So I ran it for some time and then went 37’s and wished I could have done 40’s. Cue the jeep. I almost did 38’s and that little devil on the shoulder told me not to be a baby, I’d just regret it. I was nervous going 40 because.. well, giant. Best decision I could have made.

moral of the story; if even a teeny tiny hint of you will want 40’s, just take a little extra time and save here and there and do the damn thing. The actual difference between 37 and 40 price wise, isn’t too much. Also, I have a non-diesel and didn’t run spacers for probably of a year on my narrow track axles with no issues other than getting stuck so I went with lockers. Nike said it best, just do it 😈
