Randomly on Friday my JT told me the right front door is open (but it is indeed closed) and the locks cycle and the dash (the speedometer part in the middle) flickers on and off, combined with the dome lights overhead coming on. It will come and go randomly while driving and sitting still so a bump has nothing to do with the condition. Having a bit of automotive knowledge, I want to ask you all what I should do... first thought was the auxiliary battery starting to crap out, so I bypassed it (pulled F42 and the negative lead), it was fine for about 30 mins... also when I did that, I lost Off Road Pages, HVAC control and XM Radio... weird. Not worried because clearly it isn't the aux battery since it still acts up the same way without it. So that got me thinkin... right front door - what could that be? I'm guessing at that door switch (likely part of the latch), the connector in the body where like you'd take the door off (but I have never taken the doors off - not my thing)... I did pull the panel to see if there was water in that connector and nothing - totally dry... so maybe its a bad connector, a bad door swtich, or something worse like the TIPM or something...

Anyone have this happen? Any experience with it? It's hopefully something common and not major, but hell... I have no idea and it's 8 degrees so I have no desire to poke around with it for the next few days until it gets a little warmer. Thanks in advance.

I doubt you've had your doors off recently but the easiest solution would be to check for bent pins.

Considering its been colder around here (I'm in PA) than in Alaska, I'd check for any bent/frayed/broken wires in the wiring harness for the door. My proximity locks stopped working b/c of broken wires in the wiring harness.

Peel back the wrapping about 6-8" to the section where the harness bends when the door opens and closes. Hopefully you'll find some frayed wires there.

I say hopefully b/c chasing down electrical gremlins sucks!!

I've been driving all week with the door harness unmarried. Waiting for temps to warm up before chasing wires
