Well this evening the truck could not shift out of 3rd to 4th, engine light came on as well. I’m gona drop it off at the dealership I bought from new and have had every service done there as well. Praying this is simple service or sensor. Truck just hit 65000 miles and I did not opt for extended power train.
Dealer called today saying the transmission fluid is burnt. The code received was 3rd gear ratio. They needed permission to take the pan off.

Please help. Mileage on truck when dropped off at dealership 65,701, bought new from same dealer April of 2021, all service done at dealership purchased from, no extended warranty. Truck is three months or 5,701 miles out of power train warranty. No lift and kept stock size tires when replaced. I would appreciate some sort of relief, expecting this to result in a new transmission.
Update 7/7 - Dealership says plenty of metal in the pan. The quote is $7700. Service manager at dealership says there is an option for some help from Jeep since I'm out of warranty, but it requires the dealership to disassemble the transmission and find the failure point. JeepCares has reached out to me through PM as well. Hoping for the best here, I dont have 8k laying around.
Update 7/8 - JeepsCares has set me up with a case number and I'm expecting to hear from a case manager. So far the communication with JeepCares makes me feel like, well like Jeep actually cares. Of course, no idea of an outcome but nowadays receiving any response is at least comforting.
Update 7/9 - Received a call from Jeep customer service. I was told there was nothing that could be done to assist me with the repair on their end. It is now down to whatever option the dealership has through their system for assistance which is underway with the teardown of the transmission to identify the failure point. Trying to keep my cool. Being out of warranty by three months or 5,700 miles and facing an 8k repair bill.
