2nd gear stuck for awhile before shifting to 3rd gear

I have 2022 Mojave 3.6 and automatic. Occasionally when I start driving from stop, gears shift to second and stay till engine rev high before going to 3rd. I have 30,000 miles on it and told Jeep dealership, they diagnosed and see nothing wrong with transmission. Does anyone experience that issue and found the problem with this?

mine will do it sometimes on a cold morning, it sometimes only happens when I just take off with a cold trans. But after less than a mile , no problems.

My 2020 Sport did this but between 3rd and 4th Gears. My D Clutch went out and Jeep replaced my transmission.

My 2022 will hold 2nd gear every once in a while.

When it does, I back off the throttle and it shifts into 3rd.
I haven't detected a pattern as far as cold transmission vs warmed up.

I forgot to mention, when gear stuck at second, I did let foot off gas pedal and still stuck for 3-4 more seconds before shifting to 3rd. Even it's been warm and running for over 20 minutes. I have 35in tire but did use Taser match tire size.

Mine is also odd when cold. Seems there is no way to fix it till it's broke. No one really knows much about them.

My wifes 2019 JL does the same thing. The useless deadbeats at the stealership couldn't duplicate it and deemed it as "normal"

The 8 speed isn't perfect but the ford 10 ia no better.

2023 Mojave here. The 2nd to 3rd shift pause has happened just a few times in 2.5 years. Not a long pause between shifting, just enough that the higher engine revs before the shift caught my attention. The transmission was cold when it happened, and as soon as it warmed up, it went away. But as I stated, it has only happened a few times (<10?).

Wait till you pull in a gas station at630am after ripping through curvy roads for 48 miles get gas jump back in rip the shifter to "D" and take off and drop the hammer only to find your in "M" and it pulls 5 or 6 grand before you realize and flip it to the right into "D" and your neck whips back like a bobblehead hula girl dash ornament . .. yeah baby !!!

Ran across this thread and wanted to see if maybe the OP had any updates.

My 2023 JTR (20k miles) will hold in 2nd and rev up high as well. If I let off the gas, it takes 5 seconds or so to finally go to 3rd. I have had this occur both cold and warm and not a consistent occurrence.

I may take it into Jeep and let them check it over on warranty.

Get it checked out immediately. I had the same issue going from 3rd to 4th. Turns out my D clutch went out and my transmission had to be replaced. From 2 to 3, I guessing that would be the C Clutch, but that's a guess.
So, the important part is you need to take it to a Jeep dealership that has a transmission specialist. The Jeep dealership 5 minutes from my house kept telling me it was fine, but after the 3rd time I said I wanted someone else to look at it. They sent me to a transmission specialist 35 minutes away and he diagnosed the D clutch went out.
