I have been told that my 2021 Willys JT comes with the same suspension system as the Rubicon just with different shocks. Other than the difference in stock tire diameters, they have, for the most part, the same ride height.

Is this true?

No. In addition to the ugraded Fox shocks, the Rubicon comes with a stiffer spring rate to compensate for it's additional weight. That is why the Rubicon springs provide a small lift to other/lighter models

Willys gets the previous gen JKU red rubi shocks while the new rubi gets fox.
I’ve seen that as well. I thought maybe it was a 2020. Any idea how the springs are different? My impression was that the Willy’s springs were the same height, but not the same rates.

That chart from edmunds shows a 4,500lb towing capacity for the rubicon. It’s 7,000. I’d look for specs from Jeep. For the rest.
Regarding the suspension, I’m under the impression that the Willy’s and Rubicon get the same shocks, but not the same springs.
It's accurate at 4500 towing capacity on the Rubi, but they're basing it on the Manual. Edmunds actually has no drop down options for an auto Rubicon. Makes no sense.

That may be the case on Wranglers, but not Gladiators.

Different shocks and different springs....

I’ve looked up the Willy’s and Rubicon JT comparison, and everything I’ve seen is Rubicon shocks, but not Rubicon Springs.

They shocks are definitely different. It is visually apparent if they are next to each other. The Rubicon shocks also say Jeep Rubicon on them, along with the fox logo.

As I mentioned above, they use different springs, as the Rubicon is a heavier vehicle that requires a stiffer spring rate. That is why alot of guys swap out their sport springs for rubicon springs and get a small lift out of it. Same would apply to Willys, as its a Sport model with an appearance package and a limited slip rear end.
