Bigger brakes, I think so
If you read my other build and adventure threads, you'll remember I heard my brake fluid boiling at the bottom of the Corkscrew in Colorado. A park Ranger on Pikes Peak stopped me checked my brakes with a heat gun and made me pull over for a while.
So based on those experiences, I do feel bigger brakes are apropos.

Watching a recent video from Epic Adventure guys in Canada got me thinking about breaks. That is what prompted my question.

Oh yea, Shawn goes down some crazy steep and long stretches of those shelf roads he films. Going down the Corkscrew pass is very much the same. A "Challenged" brake system would surely fail on that trail.

I got a little farther along today. But not as far as I wanted to. This kit is pretty busy. Locating and moving wiring harnesses and brackets and things like that. The top spring mount that bolts to that plate inside the spring is impossible to get to. I think I will have to partially remove the bed to gain access.
Anyway, I started out this afternoon by installing the new drive shaft carrier bearing spacer

Next up I started installing the new top mount rear sway bar. It has a lot of steps, and I did not get it finished. Along with that, I installed the rear bump stop spacers.

I had to rip out factory brackets, move sections of wiring harness, and fish in hard-to-reach nuts and bolts. But the lower mount is all on now, and the top section is 20%

The stack of empty boxes is growing, as is the pile of discarded parts.

Well I thought I finished the rear end today, but I had a nasty little surprise awaiting...

First of all, I slapped in the new rear sway bar mounts:

Then built up the sway bar assembly.

And installed it:

Terra Flex supplied these nifty brake line mounts that keep everything clear of the tires.

I then rested the vehicle on the springs, supporting the weight, then torqued all the fasteners.
