What kind of trails are you thinking of running? Have you considered the Mojave trim? I apologize if you mentioned the weight of the small travel trailer you want to tow, but I'd assume a 6000lbs capacity (with auto) would be sufficient.

When I recently purchased, I was certain I would be ordering a Rubicon, but after researching and considering my needs/wants, I ordered a Mojave. The Rubicon has a lot of nice off road features, and you wont go wrong getting one, but I feel like they are better suited to the Wrangler platform (I've owned a Wrangler Rubicon). I"m currently running my Mojave stock (until my tires come in) and have been surprised at its ability on the trails. The ride on rough fire roads is amazing. I have taken it on a few 700km round trips and its also very comfortable through the mountain passes. I'm not sure about the steering wander that has been mentioned, but I dont have it on my '22.

Just thought I'd throw out another option to consider. Whichever you choose, the Gladiator is a really fun Jeep!
My Mojave rides like trash and has since day 1

I believe the Altitude is just an Overland with some added bling, like bigger wheels and body colored bumpers.
Anyone mind explaining exactly what the altitude trim line is exactly? Thanks
The altitude should not be confused with the high altitude. All the Altitude is is the Sport S with a blackout package. That is it.

Jeep Gladiator Altitude is based on the Sport S trim and it features a body-color grille with Dark Gray headlamp rings, black Jeep and Trail Rated badges, 18-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels clad in Dueler All-Terrain tires, and body-color fender flares. A black Freedom hardtop is the standard, but buyers of the Jeep Gladiator Altitude can opt for the available dual top as well. Inside, the Gladiator Altitude comes with standard black cloth seats, Wizard Black instrument panel mid-bolster and bezels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with black stitchin

People need to decide what they want for a daily driver. Personally….I thought the Sport was boring to drive. The Rubicon drives more like what I’d expect a Jeep to drive.

That being said…if you’re going to be running it up and down the freeway at 75+ MPH…I’d give that one some thought. My two cents…my Rubicon is fine at 72 MPH. Much more than that and It’s not exactly a relaxing ride.

Then again, you’ve got the whole “aerodynamics of a brick” thing and the fuel tank that seems to be about as big as my lawn tractor (it seems like I’m always filling it up), so I doubt that I’d be dying to roll much over 72 MPH even if I had opted to go the Overland route.
My Sport S is a great daily driver gets around 20 mpg mixed highway and local. IT goes 85 mph without a but of a problem smooth as ice and does not pull left or right and the steering is not loose. I can drive it with a couple fingers.. I do not believe it is boring. I want it to drive like a Jeep off road and smoother on road and that is what the Sport S gives. That plus a great payload and tow capacity.

In essence the Sport S gives the best towing capacity, the highest tongue weight, the most payload, is a smooth daily driver, gets arlund 20 mpg mixed and is completely modifiable like any jeep if down the road you want to add lockers and a sway disconnect. Everyone say Overland or Rubicon but give the Sport S a good look. I had the money to buy anything and paid cash for mine. I thought about the Rubi because it was only a bit off in towing, but the payload is heavily affected and you have to take that into mind with the tongue weight of a TT. In fact I added every single option to my Sport S to 58K and still have a great payload.

That's unfortunate. Hopefully you can get it fixed to your liking or find something you find more suitable. Mine is the best riding jeep I've been in.
Thanks, man! I’m just trading it off for an overland, I think I’ll be much happier with less of a lift and cushy ride

I can’t wait until my overland gets here, looking forward to a much better ride than my Mojave.

Wow! We must have totally different versions of what feels good.
It’s sure isn’t the Mojave, definitely the least comfortable of all the trims

So sell it and please stop complaining to those of us who like our Jeeps.

I hope you're not disappointed by the overland. Have you owned other solid axle jeeps before? We have a JKU Sahara Wrangler 75th and a Rubicon JT. The Sahara doesn't really ride any better than the JT. Both ride better than the TJ we used to have.

My order of comfort from least to most comfortable, from the jeeps we've owned:
'97 TJ 4.0 sport < '16 jku 75th < '21 JTR. When I was on the factory mud tires, the order was reversed, the JKU was better on the road than the JTR. I know it's previous generation, but I normally consider Saharas as equivalent to overlands.

So, maybe try some different tires before switching out? The tires I run now are a compromise between off-road and on road comfort, because I do need off-road traction when we do wheel, but most of my miles these days are on the road (unfortunately). So I run a comfortable AT with still decent off-road traction.

If you're more street oriented, try a milder AT or even a highway tread if you're all street

The Mohave I had the privilege of riding in, at high speeds off road, was easily the most comfortable Jeep I’ve been in to date.
