Why THAT location, instead of out the front or whatever. But the passenger side?

I find it odd that Jeep figured on running cables out right to where people sit - sort of in the way. I'd have figured out the back and front, but can't see using the side slots. (besides, that console USB is where I keep the music)

Additionally, I purchased Bulletpoint MagSafe wireless charger, mini mount arm, and an AMPS compatible ball mount.

Man, when I built out my RAM mount because they had a magsafe mount everybody acted like I was dumb.

I love it, there's so many things you can't do on CarPlay that aid in long trips like checking on your battery / power equipment, checking that your fridge is cold enough, and it's not like I'm tapping my phone constantly, just the occasional peek while the driving situation is super calm.
Face ID works perfectly where I have it mounted, and when I was using it a lot last year I had lock screen widgets set up that launched directly into the battery App and the thermometer app.

Ideally I'll get all that stuff into Home Assistant since they have a CarPlay app now and it can actually display analog values now, like battery %, 12V Output, fridge temp.
You just have to do the hard part of getting it all in there and handling networking on the go.
Crazy tangent I know, but, figured I mention it incase you were looking into that kind of stuff.

I installed my Mob magnetic mount to the far right area of the glass screen and the phone fits perfect - then you angle the phone a bit to the driver and its "Cock for Dolly!"

well crap. I went out today for a trip with my magnet USB wireless charger in hand ready to plug it in and use those holes I didnt know about.

Popped the console lid, WHAT!!! no USB-C in there. What nonsense is this!? Had to plug it up front.
I looked forward to using those little holes.

You can get an adapter for that.

Like already said - get an adapter. That port in the console is more for either USB sticks or regular charging cables.

I keep a stick of music in the console - out of the way, leaves the ports up front open.
