Unfortunately, Sunday morning we was at our hunting camp drove across a small creek about 8 inches of water, but there was about an inch of ice on it. We drove through that drove up our lane about 3/4 of a mile went to put it in 2 Wheel Dr. and realized I had zero brakes E brake would not work nothing no light yet which was odd to me so I drive all up to the top of the hill for level ground and then on my lights and sensors come on ABS all the good stuff unfortunately. took it to the dealer this morning. Hopefully find the outcome out in a couple of days. It was only 6°. My initial thought is everything is froze. Solid because I still have brake fluid in the reservoir hopefully warranty covers.

Back years and years ago….. I remember going thru creeks with ice and thinking it was ā€˜cool’ to break up the ice. Makes for great pictures.

Those ice chunks are bruttle. The thicker the ice is, the worse it gets.
Those chunks of ice will tear shit up……

Turns out, the major drop in temps got me, dealer told me due to the severe temp drop over night ( went from 56 to 6 over night) played the big roll and froze the sensors on the brakes. And the Jeep didn’t know what to do so it faltered the brakes so the would not work.

I don’t understand why the handbrake didn’t work. Are they electronic on the new ones?

THIS!!!! If they are I need to run down a mechanical replacement. I do not trust an electronic EMERGENCY brake. Besides it’s way less fun. :turkey:

The handbrake system in the JT is mechanical and separate from the normal service brakes. Even if the vehicle is in full blown electronic hissy fit meltdown mode the handbrake should still work.
