My 2025 Mojave was purchased just for taking trips, but since my Wrangler likes to stay outside at the dealership instead of at my house I'm putting miles on it faster than I had planned.
I've been driving her daily for the last three weeks while the JKU was at the dealership having the radiator replaced. (Max Care or I would've done it myself).
I thought I was noticing odd shift points when I started this last three weeks behind the wheel and in the last week or so I thought it seemed to be idling a little rough.
I got ready to pull out of the drive to go to work and the CEL came on. 21,298 miles. I don't know if I felt lucky to make it this far or was disappointed it was already happening.
CEL are like normal life in the JKU so I reasoned that must be confirming my rough idle.
I headed on down the road, got on the highway and noticed the auto stop/start disabled light was also on then the red lightning bolt Service Electronic Throttle Control popped up followed by loss of all power.
I barely made it to the shoulder, across 4 lanes of traffic before the momentum was gone.
Called a wrecker. It was an experience watching him trying to load it since it didn't want to stay in neutral.
When we got to the dealership he was trying to slide it off and I told him I'd hop in and see if it might start or at least stay in neutral long enough to get it off of the flatbed.
When it started it sounded like it was about to fly apart!
I'm a month out from an annual trip to the mountains and fear they won't have it fixed (possibly not even diagnosed) by then.
I searched the service message before posting, but didn't see anyone mention theirs sounding like it was about to come apart.
I'm convinced my JKU was built on a Friday. I've had more trouble with it than most but with the Max Care I just keep letting them fix it.
I had high hopes of my Gladiator lasting me a long time, but now am thinking I wasn't too smart buying a second Jeep!
I'm here for thoughts and experience for anyone that wants to chime in.

Max care comes with a loaner right? Let em have it and fix it. Take the loaner and if it happens to go through your mountain trip take it to the mountains. I’d at least see what they say as long as you haven’t done anything crazy to the Jeep yet.

Max Care is on the Wrangler. Gladiator is still under 3 year 30k warranty. I didn't even think about pushing for a loaner because I wanted my JKU out of their shop before I left.
Only drawback to a loaner is I just got a topper so we can haul more junk on the trip. Oh, and I take a dog with me when I go. Guess I need to bring that up and see if that encourages them to get on it instead of letting it sit.

I had a Grand Cherokee for about 6 weeks back during the winter, while they were replacing the driver's side seat belt in the Wrangler. That was a pretty sweet and peppy ride! We got our annual couple of days of snow/icy roads (North Texas stockshow weather) right before I had to give it back. It was a blast to drive, for a family truckster, and handled those roads nicely. I was disappointed in how the Gladiator performed on the same. The JKU has always been great on the stuff.
