It has been about 50............. likely down now because of loss of push by the government or the fear mongers out there telling people not to park them in a garage because they catch fire (like that idiot dealer mentioned earlier - what a dope)

Since it's only available in the JLU - it would be nice to see it broken down by JL vs. JLU versions.

50% for one quarter and calling it 50% of sales is misleading. Stats can be abused so easily.

Stellantis already crapped the bed by underestimating the market for EVs and being too late with their half baked offerings. This is reflected in their shrinking sales over the last few years as EVs took off. If they had an all electric Wrangler with a 350 mile range for 2023 they would be everywhere. Instead they invented the Recon, which might be ok, but why? And it's still not available. The Wagoneer name isn't fooling anyone and instead of trying to get $70k+ for the S, the focus should have been an all electric Grand Cherokee 3 years earlier. Now the new CEO is just a retread who already failed with his V8 pet projects elsewhere in the company. I wouldn't be expecting anything great on the EV front or with the stock price in the coming years.

Yes, that's why I posted the other quarters, etc. - if you had only seen that it was 50% and that was the last figure you'd seen, you'd likely assume it continued at 50%.
Still, it's a very very respectable number at over 30% - and, being the best selling PHEV, that in itself is a big deal.
IMO, if it's over 1/3 of all Wranglers, and that's including the 2 door version, and it's the biggest selling PHEV, that's big stuff.
There aren't any numbers I have found SO FAR that consider ONLY JLU numbers.
Because I'd bet it's still around 50% of the 4 doors - and it's very different audiences for each.

Maybe someone has the number of JLUs made since the 4xe was introduced because as of April this year, Jeep had made 250,000 of the 4xe.
So you'd have to compare JLU sales since the 4xe came out to know what percentage of JLU sales are 4xe powered.

Doing a little digging, this is what I'm finding for what percentage of Wranglers per year were 4xe since introduction:
2021 - no luck finding info so far
2022 - 24% link
2023 - 43% link
2024 - 37% link
2025 through Q2 - 27% (calculated from Q1 and Q2 sales reports)

That's total Wranglers, including the 2 door. And it's a VERY different market for the JL vs. JLU.
So the only fair comparison would be take all JLUs (the 4 door unlimited) since the 4xe came out and run those numbers.
Since the introduction of the 4xe JLU, what percentage of JLU have been 4xe.
So far, I find no numbers breaking down JL vs. JLU even though they play to different buyers.

You are right, no one is forcing the purchase. the force is on the sale. Jeep couldnt sell the 392 without selling 4Xes, theres force. CARB states cannot put an ICE version on the lot if an electrified version exists. theres force. $13k plus in tax credits is not force but close to it.
Y'all seem to think just because a law is passed it's followed. Americans have a long and proud tradition of ignoring silly laws. Here in California, a lot of dealers ignored that electric only rule by saying customers "ordered" a gas version (something they could do) and then "walked away" on arrival. This left dealers with a healthy number of V6, turbo 4, and V8 Wranglers. And 4xes still sold.

There aren’t many EV Jeeps on the road in Toledo or Michigan where we have a high number of Jeeps. For whatever reason.
Probably some local resentment at electrification since so far its meant job cuts and off shoring for American auto workers. But that's just an uninformed guess. Throw in you're clickbait headlines about EVs and hybrids performing poorly in winter, it's sure to keep the rust belt away.

I'm sure there's also not exactly a ton of Teslas or very many of the Korean (Hyundai/Kia/Genesis) EVs up there either.

My local dealership has 30 gas wranglers and only 7 4xE. Three of those seven have been on the lot for some time now. I don’t see the 4xE nearly as often as the gas versions. Generally, people bought the electric versions here because of the big tax breaks, so there are a bunch of Saharas on 20s rolling around who would never use a Jeep for its capabilities. I’ve wheeled with probably a hundred different Jeeps personally, and I’ve only had one 4xE in my group, ever. I’m also in Southern California. You must live in a different SoCal than I do.

Every brand sells small diesels everywhere else but here, and it's not because of some conspiracy, people just don't want them.
Also……. People aren’t familiar with them. Diesels were never *the norm* in this country like they are in other countries. There’s a bit of unfamiliarity.

I could’ve bought a 2023 Diesel Gladdy back in April 2024. I decided against it because I know nothing about them. It’s hard to spend that much $$ on something you’re not familiar with

we get you are a fan boy of electric jeeps. but having an ordered jeep that did not get picked up on the lot is not being a proud American by not following silly laws. that's a CA dealer following exactly the law. Trackin?

Ya know, it gets pretty bad when people toss out attempted insults like this "fan boy" bullshit when all someone is trying to do is counter the junk being tossed out by haters.
Once that sort of thing starts, it generally means the person has run out of factual and logical information and has to come out swinging to continue the fight - a fight they have made it when there was no fight to begin with.

You don't have to be a "fan" to see where the crap is (pretty much always from those who are tossing the insults and hate) - I can take them or leave them, but when I see someone coming in with nothing but crap based on hate and a total lack of logic or fact, then I will counter it. If that makes me look like a "fan boy" so be it - but it's simply trying to counter the crap out there that people with so much hate, instead of critical thinking ability, toss out.
Any time anything with an electric motor is mentioned, the crap oozes out of the woodwork.

We're just countering it with fact and reason, instead of so much hate based on - basically, nothing but personal hate for something.

I happen to like the one we have. My first choice might have been a 3.6, but having owned, driven one, and seeing all of the positive attributes (contrary to what people here toss out, I know how they can and do operate), I'm quite fine with it and would look at a 4xe Gladiator. Buy? Well, that depends, but yes, I'd look.

I guess force was the wrong word. Not giving much options on the lot. Its like when the JL first came out and they started offering the e-torque 2.0L. 95% of the JL's on the lot were the 2.0L. Not because people wanted them. Its what Jeep wanted you to buy. Its the same situation for the 4Xe. 90% of JL's and Grand Cherokee's on the lot are 4Xe. Not because its what people want. Its what Jeep wants you to buy. If they pushed the diesel like they have the 4Xe. There would be a TON more diesel JL/JT's out there.
Force is the wrong word. I would say "entice." The $7500 tax credit certainly helps spur the purchase.
